The Role:
LEAD FLOW ASSURANCE

MISSIONS
The service holder is responsible for the scope definition and implementation of all Flow Assurance (FA) studies
required throughout the project. The objective of these studies is to ensure an effective delivery of hydrocarbons from
the wells to the FPSO under the range of operating conditions required throughout the field life.
The service holder main missions are then the identification, the definition of scope of work, the implementation, followup
and control of Flow Assurance (FA) studies, the analysis of their results, the issue/validation of recommendations for
the design of facilities and the control of design (Basic Engineering / Detailed Engineering) performed by Contractors,
in compliance with Project Specifications and Procedures, client's General Specifications, discipline requirements and
international codes, with the objective to reduce costs without impacting the schedule or the required level of quality
and safety.
The service holder shall also interface with other elements of the project on all engineering and constructability matters.
The service holder will be supported by one/two Flow Assurance engineers.
The service holder reports to the Field Operation Manager.
The service holder is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE rules &
requirements and for implementing HSE rules within his area of responsibility.

ACTIVITIES

1. To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSE and to implement
HSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
2. To co-ordinate all the activities of the Flow Assurance team by informing, supporting and
directing Flow Assurance Engineers in their roles, responsibilities and objectives.
3. To identify, define the scope of work, compile inputs, implement and follow-up of all
necessary Field Operation studies / simulations works (performed by client or third parties)
– RAM studies, Risks studies, Safety studies, Process studies...
To review the results and simulations works, and issue or validate recommendations for input
in the design of facilities as a result of Flow Assurance studies performed.
To provide Flow Assurance design input to all Technical Packages for inclusion in Basic
Engineering, CFT…
4. To coordinate and interface with the various project teams involved (Reservoir, Drilling /
Completions, SPS, UFL, FPSO, Interfaces, Commissioning, Operations) to ensure that the
Flow Assurance specifications are implemented correctly (review/comment key engineering
documents issued by packages, manage identified interfaces, etc.)
5. To ensure that the Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering of all facilities complies with
Flow Assurance input and requirements - Participate in the control of quality of all related-
Flow Assurance deliverables issued by Contractors (review/comment of Contractors issued
documents).
6. To participate in various technical reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, PTR, …)
7. To be involved in the development and acceptance of specialised packages / tools required
for assisting Operations.
8. To participate in the preparation and development of the Project Operating Philosophy and
Procedures and to identify the corresponding Flow Assurance constraints requiring analysis
and resolution.
9. To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the Field Operation Manager (progress,
concerns)
10. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)
11. To gather ‘lessons learnt’ and provide feedback to other client's E&P entities as required.

OBSERVATIONS ON ACTIVITIES AND MISSIONS
The service holder may participate to the development of Project Management main documents (FDP, PEP, PQP,
etc.).
The service holder shall also support and implement the Project HSEQ management system (plans, procedures and
specifications).

Professional Experience (years): 10-15
Experience in similar position (years): min 7 in Flow Assurance engineering on equivalent project.
Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent
Languages: English mandatory
