A major oil & gas operator

The Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Functional Planner responsible for providing efficient and effective support to Functional Planning department for functional planning and integration of functional plans by Areas.

Play key role in establishment of and support to functional planning process and have following high-level accountabilities:

Recommend whether to submit/approve schedule waivers and plan change proposals
Input which activity to execute when activity set falls outside functional planning constraints
Agree when to execute activities to deliver a functional 8Q and 12 week schedule

Ensure timely update of functional activity plans supporting Project operations.

Gatekeeper for ensuring that Activity Planning processes are followed through effective planning and communication and instill planning principles and rigor to the functional teams to help sustainability.

Close collaboration with Tools & Systems team with regard to Primavera system settings (Work Break-down Structure (WBS), Activity Codes, layouts etc.)

Role will be required to ensure functional planning is lined up with Client E&P Planning Guidelines and standards.


Key role accountabilities include but not limited to:

Generate of high quality, deliverable functional plans
Ensure functional plans integrate into Area schedules
Progress functional pre-execution and post-execution activities

Area Schedules
Support to the integration of functional plans into area schedules

Functional Plans
Break down Business Plan Elements into discrete Planning Level 1,2 and 3 activities
Ensure that all Functional Plan activities fit within functional constraints
Ensure sufficient buffers between activities and allowances for emergent work
Identify functional activities that risk delivery of the Plan
Accountable for resource levelling all functional activities in the 8Q timeframe
Communicate the agreed 8Q and 12 week plan to all functional team members
Progress pre- and post-execution activities in Primavera on a weekly basis
Liaise with Functional SPAs to build Business Plan Element milestones and activities into functional plans
Confirm functional gate readiness of activities, and work with SPA’s to ensure they understand their obligations
Support Functional SPAs in submitting waivers

Update activity plans in Planning and Scheduling Toolset (Primavera 6) and produce various reports and planning KPI
Activity Planning Process
Identify CI opportunities for Project processes that interface with Functional Planning processes and propose actions
Review Planning KPI-1, 2, 3 and 4 performance with the functional leadership team and propose improvement actions
Ensure that all planning is consistent with the Activity Planning Reference Manual

Activity Planning Team Capability Development – coaching national functional planners

HSE
Maintain Client safety culture within team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
University degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 20 years experience in Planning related field
Knowledge of Primavera (P6) and Maximo and their application
Solid practical knowledge of project management/scheduling/controls
Fluent in English Language both spoken and written
