The Role:
Lead Geophysicist

Our Client is seeking an accomplished professional to augment the activities of the MultiClient organization as Lead Geophysicist in either Norway or the UK.

Reporting to the Vice President, Geophysical Projects MC Europe, the successful candidate will join an established team of experienced business development and operations geophysicists. He / she would be responsible for ensuring geophysical integrity for all MultiClient Europe seismic work programs. The successful candidate will work closely with our clients Data Processing group (DP) to define seismic data processing strategies and implement new technology in order to create high quality MultiClient products.

Main job responsibilities:
•The Lead Geophysicist will be responsible for the integrity of all MultiClient Europe seismic programs
•Responsibilities will span a range of geophysical activities, from project inception (geophysical modelling / acquisition design) to delivery of the processed seismic volumes
•An important part of the role is the technology transfer / training of geophysical staff
•Active participation in the roll out of this technology to our client base
•Some international travel is expected for this position

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications and skills:
•Educated to MSc / PhD level
•Significant experience in the oil industry
•High level broad band geophysical expertise
•Competent in interdisciplinary team work
•Demonstrated experience and interest in the development and mentoring of (specialist) staff
•Interest in innovative technology detection, development and implementation
•Real ability to communicate and collaborate across a broad spectrum of nationalities and cultures, both internally (DP group, R&D team, Acquisition teams etc.) and externally (customers, providers, conferences etc.)
•Ability to effectively represent our client externally at industry conferences etc.
•Fluent communication skills in both written and spoken English
