The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
The position is to work with their respective scope contractors; compression or water and ponds or roads and infrastructure or power, automation and communication or commissioning to ensure all contractors are working in a consistent manner across all regions;to ensure that all legislation, policies, procedures and standards are adhered to by all personnel on the project and have a pivotal role in helping control occupational risk.

Main accountabilities:
• Participate and assist as required in the planning, prequalification, selection, premobilisation, mobilisation, execution, demobilisation and close out phases of each contractor under the specific scope of work.
• Monitoring consistent HSSE performance/KPI’s of all contractors under their scope across all regions.
• Facilitating monthly HSSE contractor meetings with each contractor
• Preparing weekly and monthly reports in conjunction with the HSSE Compliance & Assurance Manager and submitting to the central HSSE function in the agreed timescales
• Assisting contractors with Performis reporting within the agreed timescales, monitoring HSSE performance/KPI’s of all contractors under their scope, identifying any trends and agreeing with the HSSE Compliance & Assurance Manager and contractor’s corrective actions.
• Review, analyse and feedback to contractors O&I trends and performance
• Participate in contractor HAZID workshops review
• Participate in 30/60/90 day look ahead of high risk activities with each contractor
• Actively participating in contractor engagement on all HSSE matters,
• Reviewing contractor HSSE competency and training against agreed job specifications
• Reviewing information received from gap analysis and alignment sessions with contractors ensuring improvements are being made against the agreed actions.
• Assisting contractors with the implementation of the Safety leadership and Culture programme
• Work with each contractor to ensure accidents and incidents are reported in a timely manner, assisting with classification/notification through Synergi whilst supporting the contractor with incident investigations to ensure root causes are identified and actions are closed out in a timely manner
• Conduct regular work place audits to identify hazards, unsafe workplace conditions and work practices

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Formal qualifications in OH&S
• Experience in a similar Health and Safety role
• Experience in internal auditing
• Competent in the development and facilitation of the Job Hazard Analysis process
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with people including staff, contractors and external stakeholders
• Able to effectively liaise with Statutory Authorities where appropriate
• Able to conduct training sessions predominantly relating to site activities and hazard awareness

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Qualification in Certificate IV Training and Assessment
