The Role:
Position Title: LEAD ENGINEER INSPECTION
Reports to: INTEGRITY AND INSPECTION MANAGER
Business Unit / Department: Engineering & Assurance – Reliability: Integrity and Inspection


Plan and execute activities to ensure the optimum reliability, availability and technical integrity of all static equipment and piping systems in his area of responsibility. Develop technically sound and cost effective maintenance approaches, consistent with the company operating requirements and safety standards


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Develop, review and execute area inspection plans to ensure integrity and reliability of the plant assets.
2. Provide support and technical advice / assistance to Operations, Maintenance, Technology, Engineering, Projects, Contractors to ensure plant integrity and reliability.
3. Develop, monitor implementation and review input into plans to ensure equipment integrity and reliability.
4. Provide the maintenance and shutdown / turnaround teams with required recommendations to ensure continuous availability and integrity of plant.
5. Plan, prepare and execute scope of work to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant.
6. Review and update the Plant Integrity Assurance (RBI) Manual with the latest designated area data and process changes to ensure that plant integrity is maintained
7. Audit the quality assurance quality control plans to ensure the work quality and hence the plant integrity and reliability.
8. Provide relevant information and advice to support the development of a sound departmental business plan.
9. Ensure the business processes and work activities, relevant to position, are executed in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures to achieve the business objectives in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
10. Review and approve the quality assurance quality control documents to ensure the work quality and hence the plant integrity and reliability.
11. Raise plant change proposal for upgrading the metallurgy to enhance equipment reliability and integrity.
12. Perform root cause analysis in case of any abnormal finding from inspection that is not aligned with equipment design basis.
13. Manages and motivates team within department and acts as a champion for all company policies and procedures particularly in the areas of human resources and health and safety

• Ensure that the safety & well-being of employees, contractors, and others are always the first consideration in decisions on cost, production, quality and productivity.
• Enforce operational discipline by ensuring all workplace and process safety procedures and practices are understood and implemented in order to avoid potential WPS and PSM incidents occurring.
• Apply the HSE Policy; the 5 Safety Principles, and enforce the 12 Golden Safety Rules.
Performance Indicators:
All relevant leading and lagging HSE KPIs Within the position holder’s area of responsibility as identified in:
• The HSE Business Plan
• Area SPIRIT Plans
• Site and Area HSE Dashboards
• Enforce operational discipline by ensuring all workplace and process safety procedures and practices are understood and implemented in order to avoid potential WPS and PSM incidents occurring.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Must have relevant experience of working on a refinery
