The Company:
Our client a UK based refining and marketing company, have interests in a number of facilities in the United Kingdom, employing around 1000 people throughout the UK and over 33000 worldwide. They have had their presence on Teesside for over 30 years, processing and storing crude oil ready for shipment along with being an established supplier of bulk fuels, including LPG, to the commercial, aviation and marine industries.

The Role:
Maintenance/ Deisgn back ground required for this hands on contract role with our client.
You will be responsible for checking and advising on general requirements of the site.
Fire & Gas detection and experience of hardwired interlock valves would be an advantage along with previous DCS experience.
Review site HAZOP and PHR studies and make recommendations to ensure safe, continuous and reliable operation of legacy assets with a view to a further 30+yrs of operation.
Actively participate in the preparation and execution of further Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for localised systems using techniques such as HAZOP and LOPA.
Review QRA studies previously undertaken and build upon recommendations to engineer solutions to hazards identified.
Investigate ways to retrospectively apply Best Available Technology (BAT) to legacy assets with the aim of removing or lowering risk from identified hazards to a point which is considered ALARP and/or compliant with current industry guidance/legislation e.g. BS EN 61511. Review SIL calculations for Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) and assess their suitability against Target SIL values.
Raise ‘Plant Change Requests’ including detailed scope and cost estimates.
Provide Conceptual Design & Front End Engineering for subsequent submission to external design house for Detailed Design.
Review & critique design packs.
Verification and amendment of PID’s & Loop Drawings against As Built control loops.
Participate in site incident investigations and make engineering recommendations based on findings.
Introduce new technology (nucleonic) to the site requiring permits from the UK EA.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Previous DCS experience along with maintenance backgroud

Chartered qualification
