The Role:
To manage and co-ordinate the discipline activities within a project, ensuring the technical integrity of designs undertaken by engineers and designers under his/her control

■ To carry out professional engineering activities in a highly competent and efficient manner and ensure that the technical and safety integrity of the engineering is maintained while completing the tasks within allocated time.

■ Accountable for all technical documentation when assigned as project Lead Engineer as per project organisation chart.

■ Preparation of deviations to corporate, national and international codes/standards, where applicable, for approval by the Supervising Engineer

■ Responsible for preparation of CTR’s and input to estimates (MTO’s etc.) and for weekly reporting of progress against the CTR’s.

■ To provide guidance and leadership in technical matters and to ensure that his group are aware of and are working to current engineering standards and procedures.

■ Ensuring that all Engineers, Designers, and CAD Operators are fully acquainted with the appropriate use of AKIMS and PEM.

■ Review and comment on vendor information and take part in inspection and testing.

■ Ensure compliance of the design and procurement activities with comany procedures and all relevant statutory regulations, codes and standards.

■ Ensure recognition of changes to scope of work and preparation of Change Requests as appropriate.

■ Identify any offshore/onshore survey requirements.

■ Review the work carried out by personnel in the team for accuracy, technical quality and fitness for purpose utilising own experience and PEM.

■ Review documents and drawings produced by the group and ensure that single and inter-discipline checks are carried out in accordance with company/project procedures and PEM.

■ Approve discipline documents including basis of design reports.

■ Responsible for the preparation of documents, deliverables and calculations including input to workpacks for construction and commissioning.

■ Carry out manual/computer analysis and weight estimates as appropriate.

■ Carry out onshore or offshore site surveys, as required, during the initial workscope definition or the development of the design.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
■ Educated to HNC/HND level in relevant engineering discipline preferred
■ Educated to degree level in relevant engineering discipline preferred
■ Associate or Member of Professional Engineering Institute preferred
■ Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred
■ Demonstrable professional experience
■ Must be eligible to work within the UK

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Previous decommissioning experience would be advantageous, including experience of TARTAN systems as well as Engineering Down and Cleaning [EDC].
