The Company:
Our client is an International Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Company with operations in 16 countries, they have achieved spectacular growth in the past ten years, growth which they expect to continue.

There Southern North Sea (North) facility comprises both on and offshore natural gas production and processing facilities. They include 18 offshore producing gas platforms off the east coast of Yorkshire.

The Role:
This is a great opportunity to work as part of our Clients Operations team based in Hessle. The successful candidate shall be responsible for the assurance of instrumentation and its safe and reliable operation of all their operational sites. You will line manage a team of instrument engineers. You shall be providing daily support to the offshore platforms and the Dimlington terminal on instrumentation issues in addition to implementation and audit of company strategy. There is a bias towards offshore and Dimlington site attendance in order to audit and review maintenance activity.
In view of the nature of this role flexibility is required to work from your base of the Hessle office, also offshore and at their Dimlington terminal.
Key responsibilities include
• Line Manage the Instrument Engineers within your trade discipline
• Support operational locations in assessing day to day instrumentation issues, ensuring instrumentation technical integrity
• Responsible as document owner for maintaining and developing Instrumentation Maintenance Strategy and ensuring appropriate integrity management of instrument equipment
• Owner of the instrumentation related sections of the verification scheme and responsible for defining performance standards, assessing verification anomalies and assisting with anomaly closing out
• Ensure production losses resulting from instrumentation failures are investigated and prevented from recurring
• Promote the use of best technology to increase production efficiency. Manage costs by controlling spending and promoting a challenging cost culture to ensure best value is obtained from suppliers and contractors
• Provide safety leadership to offshore instrument teams by making the appropriate interventions
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice for all aspects of instrument work
• Understand and manage onshore and offshore instrumentation modifications/project operations to ensure effective and safe execution of work
Experience/qualifications
• Ideally a Chartered Engineer or qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND level
• At least 5-10 years experience within the offshore Oil & Gas Industry
• Strong operational knowledge of the offshore and onshore gas business
