The Role:
PLEASE NOTE THAT WORK PATTERN FOR THIS POSITION IS : ROTATION 28/28

The duties of the position include instrument and analyser engineering support for Tengiz Plant Operations.
The Lead Instrument and Analyser Engineer will mentor and direct Junior Instrument Engineers in the department including Career Development Plans and PMPs. The Lead Instrumentation and Analyser Engineer works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Automation, and other technical specialists to improve operational performance and solve problems related to a broad range of instrument and analyser equipment including measuring devices, control and shutdown valves, fire and gas detection/alarm systems, analysers, vibration monitoring, anti-surge controls, and control system interfaces. A key job function is identifying equipment ‘bad actors’ and developing plans to improve reliability.

The Lead Instrumentation and Analyser Engineer prepare Engineering Work Requests (EWR’s), and works with the Design Engineering team to develop instrument and analyser projects. The position may also responsible for the review and development of operating and maintenance procedures that enhance the performance and reliability of equipment, and may be involved in providing training to improve the skills and knowledge of Operations and Maintenance personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Analyser, Instrument or Control Engineering Degree (from a 4 or 5 year program) and/or 10 plus years of Analyser and/or Instrumentation experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive rapport within reporting team and across departments (engineers, operations, maintenance personnel, and contractors.)
• Strong capability and demonstrable success with instrument and analyser systems.
• Ability to identify instrumentation ‘bad actors’ and developing the solutions to improve overall reliability.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
English Language Capability Level 4 or greater.
• Ability to understand, respond to, and manage a variety of personnel issues in a culturally diverse atmosphere.
• Mentoring skills - Experience and/or ability to mentor and train engineers in instrument and analyser concepts, applications, tools, and monitoring/reliability programs.
• Experience in analyser applications, troubleshooting, and associated sample system and other equipment and operations at production facilities including equipment specification, operational and maintenance requirements, reliability, and safety in designs.
• Knowledgeable in Company and industry standard codes and practices related to the engineering, design and construction of plant facilities, specific to analysers and instrumentation systems.
• Familiarity with ISA.
