A major, international oil and gas company.

The Role:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED IN LEATHERHEAD FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2015, BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO BAKU.

Accountability for the development of Integrity Management Schemes for static mechanical equipment (pressure systems, pipelines, structures, fixed lifting & PSV’s) during the Pre-Ops Phase of a Major Project (ie: the Execute phase of the CVP process - 2 to 3 years prior to 1st hydrocarbon production).

The main focus of the role is to develop the Integrity Strategies required for the Operating phase in order to achieve safe and reliable operation of the plant. The activities are focused on “Pre-Ops Phase” once the design has been finalised, and the role is not intended to cover any Design Review, or material selection activities which occur earlier in Project Phase.

The role involves managing third party contractors to assist in the development of the Integrity Management Schemes. The role also includes working closely with existing Functional Integrity Teams within the Region.


- Ensure Regulatory, Engineering Standards and OMS compliance
- Develop the Integrity Management Schemes, and associated inspection and monitoring programmes for static mechanical equipment (pressure systems, pipelines, structures, fixed lifting & PSV’s) in compliance with the Pre-Ops Integrity Practice & Integrity Road Map
> Manage the implementation of the RBA / RBI programme to define inspection and monitoring requirements in accordance with the defined company practice
> Working in conjunction with the R&M Function, manage the upload of inspection and monitoring PMRs into the CMMS
> Manage the implementation of Baseline Surveys during fabrication & construction phases in accordance with requirements defined in the Pre-Ops Integrity Practice
> Build a pro-active Fabric Maintenance programme appropriate for the Regions geographical environmental conditions
> Review final design to identify any potential optimisation opportunities (eg: Insulation specification and requirements, access of monitoring locations, etc)
> Review opportunities for the installation of permanently installed monitoring devices (eg; PIMS rings, UT mats, etc)
- Ensure that final output is fully aligned to the GOO Integrity Practice and any specific Regional requirements (ie: Regional TAR Strategy, etc)
- Manage the integrity related Contracts, providing assurance on quality of technical delivery and cost management
- Manage interfaces with other engineering delivery teams, specialist support and sub-contractors
- Manage cost control and budget forecasting for all defined activities, and ensure delivery matches Project schedule and is within budget
- Ensure integrity performance management processes is aligned to the GOO dashboards & metrics
- Incorporate lessons learnt from existing inspection programs, and ensure new lessons learned are captured within the Community of Practice (CoP)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering Degree (Preferably Mechanical), or Degree in Materials Science / Metallurgy, or alternative qualification supplemented by field experience
Experience of working within the oil, gas or chemical industry on an operating site.
Strong delivery culture with the ability to manage multiple projects against tight deadlines.
Experience of managing Integrity Management Schemes and of managing external contractors.
Experience of working with Operations teams including coaching and developing staff in the area of integrity management.
Experience of creating or using a maintenance management system to deliver Integrity Management Schemes
Willing and able to be mobile in support of the project
Demonstrable commitment to high HSSE standards

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience of working as an Integrity Engineer on a Major Project.
Knowledge and experience of integrity aspects of operational readiness, ideally gained through experience on a Major Project.
Experience of working in a multicultural environment appropriate to location of the project.
Ability to work well with others, self-motivated with willingness to challenge conventional practice.
