The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas Operating Company in the State of Qatar

The Role:
Performs a variety of quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests and analysis for all natural gas products resulting from the offshore Production and onshore Process activities. Acts as Team Leader for Lab Technicians in their daily activities and assists in their training and development on the job.

-Performs a variety of tests and analyses of all natural gas products resulting from the offshore production and onshore process activities in accordance with established testing methods and instructions.
-Uses and directs laboratory technicians to use apparatus and instruments such as gas chromatograph, spectrophotometer, potentiometer and infra-red analysers.
-Checks and records results. Performs certain tests and analyses on unit run-down samples and submits results to Chief Chemist for review and onward transmission.
-Prepares and standardizes reagents for laboratory tests,
calibrates instruments and analyses plants chemicals according to their specifications.
-Collect special chemical samples of a specific nature, such as gaseous and highly combustible, inflammable or toxic samples. Reports abnormal conditions during shift to Area Process Panel Operators.
-Clean and maintains own equipment and work area exercises technical skills in repairing and modifying own equipment.
-Prepares Quality Certificates foe finished products and submits to designated authority for approval.
-Coordinates with shipping personnel for the duration of the loading process to monitor product condition.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry -Good analytical background with knowledge of gas chromatography, spectrophotometry, x-ray diffraction, FTIR & wet chemistry methodologies. -Good knowledge of environmental testing procedures and sampling and analysis of natural gas and
gas liquids by GPA methods. -Minimum 6 years laboratory experience in the oil and gas sector. -Excellent written and oral English skills -Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team. -Computer literate with a knowledge of LIMS systems
