The Company:
A Major EPCM client who is a leading provider of professional services to the resources & energy sectors and complex process industries. Working on Major projects withing Western Australia and the rest of the World.

The Role:
The Lifting Engineering Team is a small, specialist group that is a subset of the larger structural engineering team. Its primary purpose is to ensure that lifting devices, rigging and the equipment that is lifted is designed, manufactured, certified, transported, operated and maintained correctly to ensure safe, reliable and effective use.

The group now needs another engineer to meet the demands from a growing client base and expanding workload. This is a challenging role that will suit a structural engineer who is keen to have greater interaction with clients, more involvement in the overall project delivery process and both office and site work.

The primary goals for the position are:

1. Provide a client focus in the discipline of lifting engineering and ensure that the needs of the current and future client base are exceeded.

2. Manage total project delivery from the initial client request, through engineering to invoicing and project close out.

3. Develop lift plans for lifts ranging from 25 – 1000 tonne. This can involve the complete supply chain from load out at the point of supply through to final installation.

4. Provide engineering advice and support to over 50 clients using our internet service that currently holds in its database documentation for over 5,000 individual pieces of equipment.

5. Maintain and develop lifting technical standards and template calculations

6. Design and review lifted equipment and associated rigging based on fundamental engineering calculations

7. Inspect and assess lifting equipment

8. Provide advice and guidance to projects in the area of material handling and lifting equipment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. A degree in structural engineering with expertise in steel design

2. The ability to manage all aspects associated with project delivery

3. A strong ability in customer service and marketing.

4. A good understanding of the supply chain and material handling
