The Role:
The Lead Marine Operator, as part of the shift team, monitors and operates the marine facilities of the FPSO in order to maintain safety loading, handling and discharge of crude oil product in support of delivery of stable production. Performing routine operation and first line maintenance of marine equipment including IG systems, COW systems, offloading equipment and lifesaving appliances.
The Lead Marine operator is directly responsible to the Tanker Safety Supervisor for day to day operations within the Marine Department ensuring the vessel remains in a safe condition through adherence to stability criteria. As Lead Marine Operator you will lead a team responsible for operational and maintenance activities on marine systems as defined in the Safety Management System, to the standards demanded by regulatory authorities and statutory instruments.
To ensure all marine operations are conducted safely and efficiently to meet targets on board the Curlew.
Primary Functions:
• Adopt and promote client safety culture,
behaviours and values and continually monitor the application and implementation of
Health, Safety Environmental Policy, the Installation Safety Case and supporting procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations, to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
● Ensure that all operational procedures are being correctly applied and adequately monitored.
● Management of control of work through adequate Risk Assessment, Permit to Work and / or safe working procedures
● Monitoring workplace safety and workforce performance through regular worksite checks and auditing.
● Liaison with other disciplines to ensure all work is co-ordinated and within production considerations.
● Complete and record routine maintenance against Maintenance Management System.
● Ensure that the required level of reporting and record keeping is maintained.
● Ensure that corrective work orders are raised for all known faults, and that required materials are ordered.
● Ensure compliance with performance standards & reporting any failure to achieve the required standard.
● Support maintenance compliance & ensuring work order data quality is of a high standard.
● Carry out emergency response duties where necessary.
● Support plant safety, equipment availability and production uptime.
● Supervising vendor support personnel.
● Produce, monitor and execute loading, offloading, Gas freeing and crude oil washing plans.
● With support from TSS perform cargo offtake operations in accordance with procedures.
● Support aviation and deck operations as directed.
● Assist in development, onboard training and competency completion of Marine Operators and Deck crew
● Understudy Tanker Safety Supervisor in their role, providing stand in where necessary.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Critical Skills:
• Standards of Training and Certification of Watchkeepers II/2 Maritime and Coastguard Agency Chief Mate Unlimited Certification (or UK Certificate of Equivalent Competency at Class 1).
• Senior Officer (Minimum 5 years) experience aboard Crude Oil, Product or Chemical tankers with experience of cargo loading, handling discharging and COW is essential. Experience in offshore Marine management position should be considered.
• Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office, SAP and stability information systems.
• Strong understanding of safety issues, technically and professionally astute, commercially aware with a strong leadership ethic.
• Team player, Good communicator, Above average interpersonal skills
• Cargo Loading/Offloading Experience FPSO or Tanker S-T-S experience.
• Ballast Control Training and Certification
• Training in Emergency Management
• Effective management of personnel
• Good communications skills
• Business and commercial awar
