The Company:
Our Client is a large international Operating Company leading the development of a major oilfield in southern Iraq.

The Role:
• Lead an independently team of Engineers and Designers within discipline as necessary to perform the work;
• Ensure effective communications and co-ordinations between all mechanical team members and all other disciplines, to ensure mutual awareness of requirements and sharing of information and common resources;
• Monitor overall productivity and efficiency of the project, forecast trends and anticipate potential problems and difficulties meeting milestones or budget within the mechanical discipline, coordinate with project team including all disciplines to resolve problems;
• Conduct routine meetings with Mechanical team to monitor the projects’ performance and assess their performance;
• Perform and or coordinate all technical reviews of Contractor submitted Mechanical deliverables. Delegate review responsibilities to subject matter experts as necessary. Coordinate, review, and consolidate all mechanical review comments.
• Review, provide inputs/comments on other discipline drawings and documents;
• Respond to technical queries during the Contractor tender periods. Review and Input during the tender evaluation for the selection of EPC Contractors.
• Active participation in the various design reviews, workshops (HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, 3 D modeling, etc.) and optimization studies.
• Active participation in Constructability Reviews, Value Engineering.
• Ensure the application of correct standards in the design and development of Project deliverables.
• Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
• Using a range of computer packages for developing detailed designs
• Excellent technical report writing skills.
• Experience in preparing mechanical design and working knowledge in the checking of mechanical drawings, diagrams, constructability reviews;
• Insure adherence to terms and conditions of the contracts
• Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• A minimum of 15 years plus Mechanical engineering experience within the oil and gas industry.
• Not less than 5 years with Oil Field Surface facilities experience is a must.
• Good engineering practice including maintainability, operability and constructability
• Knowledge of current engineering standards and hydrocarbons engineering operating standards.
• Capability in:
- Calculations and design for mechanical systems
- Development of equipment list, data sheets, and layouts
- Experience in rotating and static equipment design, installation and commissioning
- Registration in a recognised professional engineering body.
- Previous experience in Iraq preferred.
