The Role:
Lead and manage the discipline team and the discipline scope for the assigned projects, and achieve project outcomes. The incumbent will be responsible for the technical integrity of the deliverables and activities of the discipline team for the project. Deemed a Supervisor role and has full responsibility for assignment of work and performance.
* Deliver discipline specific engineering services that meet the client's, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Able to participate in HAZOPs, HAZIDs, model and constructability reviews.
* Ensure that the projects and any changes to the projects comply with:
o The client's systems’, policies, processes, procedures and standards;
o Customers standards and specifications;
o Applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; and the project scope of work.
* Able to participate in HAZOPs, HAZIDs, model and constructability reviews.
* Initiate, manage and if required supervise engineering assignments on projects that meet project requirements on time and within budget. Responsible for establishing project estimates and oversight for project budgets.
* Apply strong organizational skills as well as the effective communication in English and able to take a leadership role over the group for which they have supervisory responsibilities.
* Demonstrate commitment to customer service and ability to assist others in applying knowledge and understanding in solving functional problems within area if expertise.
* Able to maintain confidential information.
* Able to discover issues and recommend solutions to business problems uncovered during the course of performing assignments.
* Provide oversight, expertise and guidance to less experienced individuals..
* Manage all aspects of the discipline scope for the project, implementing SEAL requirements including technical integrity, safety in design, and sustainable design where applicable.
* Ability to willingly accept travel or field assignments.
* Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:
o Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
o Prepare project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules;
o Conduct appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions;
o Prepare and oversee the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, datasheets, calculations and reports;
o Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
o Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
o Write requisitions, conduct technical bid evaluations and write purchase orders.
* Proactively resolve any discrepancies between the client's and its customer’s requirements
* Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline.
* Liaise with other engineering and technical personnel including personnel from other disciplines to ensure overall project goals are met.
* Ensure that the discipline team complies with the change management process.
* Support the associated procurement, contracting and construction strategies and processes to ensure that project deliverables meet project requirements on time and within budget.
* Lead and manage the team, motivate them and manage their performance.
* In conjunction with the Manager of Engineering, Group Discipline Manager, Chief Engineer and/or Project Manager, identify and manage discipline resources and competency requirements of the team.
* Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, customers and other client’s personnel as required by the project.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* BS or MS in related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree
* Generally 10-15 years of related work experience including supervisory experience are typically required; relevant professional registration preferred.
* Proficient user of engineering software applications; Computer proficiency required;
* Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail is important.
* Able to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important.
* Within the relevant discipline:
o Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the relevant discipline, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to the client and its clients.
o A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines.
o A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Working knowledge of mechanical engineering and design processes as found in the oil and gas industry. LNG experience will be strongly considered. Candidate must be sound in the engineering designs, selection and sizing of rotating and static equipment.
* Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team.
* Excellent management skills including the ability to plan, set goals; and manage time, priorities resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.
* Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
* Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
