The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil, Gas and Energy Industry.

The Role:
Our Client's Korean based project has a vacancy for a lead static mechanical engineer.

The role is to be based at the project offices in South Korea.

The role is to maintain a focus on the static mechanical aspects of the FPSO. Additionally the incumbent would also be responsible for the delivery of specific packages including achieving high demands for quality and integrity. The role is part of a small team of client mechanical engineers who are supported by the engineering contractors engineers.

Key Accountabilities:
• Lead static mechanical engineering discipline for the project, including review and allocation of engineering resources.
• Responsible for ensuring that mechanical engineering staff are competent and maintaining a view of the contractors team.
• Accountable for personal HSE performance and meeting performance targets in both personal and discipline areas including follow up and close out of actions related to design safety and HSE in mechanical engineering.
• Ensures that other lead discipline engineers, Engineering TL and Engineering Manager are kept abreast of design issues and key decisions. Supports and manages small engineering contracts and studies
• Is accountable for certain mechanical packages and co-ordination with the engineering team, procurement and supply chain on key deliverables.
• Owner of key documentation in discipline area ensuring compliance with set standards, resolution of Day-to-day technical queries and providing direction and guidance to the contractor on specific technical issues.
• Consults with functional specialists, Segment Engineering Technical Authority and Global Project TAs as appropriate on key issues of engineering integrity and significant issues of potential non compliance.
• Owner of technology plan items with accountability for progressing technology readiness through execute phase

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Self starting and motivated engineer.
• Must be chartered and degree qualified in mechanical engineering. A specialization in static mechanical and packaged equipment is required.
• Experience of dealing with vendors and contractors is required.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Has minimum of 15 years experience and worked for a major operator in the past.
Experience working in Korea with a Korean fabricator would be useful
