Fircroft is currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer - Static Equipment to provide specific discipline engineering expertise within upstream operations for a major oil & gas owner-operator.
You will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical and associated equipment is operated within the designed parameters and will provide technical assistance and approval to the modification of existing equipment.

Responsibilities will include;
• Establish and maintain plant and equipment design procedures
• Maintain design bases to enhance Infrastructure Maintenance and Asset Integrity
• Lead Engineer for all static equipment and materials related changes
• Participate in operations interfaces across projects and multi-disciplines during FEED, detailed design and construction
• Contribute to post-implementation reviews of infrastructure development
• Development of new procedures and operating practices
• Approve the deferral of work activity on HSSE critical equipment and systems
• Develop work programs and budgets for operational activities
• Contribute to the development of performance standards and maintenance strategies
• Assist Maintenance and Integrity Managers to construct and deliver programs to develop or enhance the Integrity and availability of existing facilities
• Participate in production and maintenance reviews and asset optimisation processes

Qualifications and Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ)
• High level computing skills – Microsoft Office, PLC and engineering maintenance systems for plant and equipment
• Extensive mechanical engineering experience within the operation & maintenance of gas gathering and/or gas compression systems
• Ability to lead a team of technical personnel
• Familiar with a wide range of mechanical integrity management processes such as Risk Based Inspection, Root Cause Analysis and Pipe Stress Analysis.
• Experience in the development of engineering policies/procedures
• Ability to manage subcontractors and consultants
• Experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems
• Ability to evaluate and advise on non-invasive maintenance strategies
