The Company:
Our client is a leading global exploration and production oil and gas company with a focus with a focus on innovation, safety and sustainability.

The Role:
A position is now available for an experienced Lead Mechanical/Piping/Structural Implementation Engineer to join a well established team based in Perth.
In this role you will be responsible for the review, development and preparation of work scopes to ensure implementation phase is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

You will also ensure that all deliverables are completed safely and in a timely manner to the required level of accuracy in accordance with relevant client specifications and nominated standards.

Duties are broken down across the following areas and will include:

HSE Responsibities
• Assess risks and hazards involved in tasks and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage.
• Conduct detailed hazard risk assessments on all work scopes being developed and clearly communicate those hazards and risks in all implementation work packs.
• Specify and make available resources to enable effective execution of HSE activities.
• Communicate HSE issues to line management and personnel as required.
• Attend and participate HSE meetings, as required.
• Review subcontractor HSE activities and performance and provide meaningful feedback.
• Conduct and participate in HAZID workshops as required.
• Provide positive participation into audits and ensure items requiring corrective action are followed up to completion.

Mechanical General
• Provide leadership and support to all implementation engineers, mentor and coach individuals where required.
• Provide leadership and support to implementation engineers.
• Review client/engineering specifications to ensure all work scopes technical aspects are correct and understood.
• Develop Cost Time Resources (CTR) for each defined work scope.
• Manage SAP work orders, operations, materials, drawings and attachments.
• Small project cost control, estimate preparation and alignment to planning.
• Participate in planning and scheduling of work scopes with the integrated planning group.
• Provide accurate estimates for execution resource requirements.
• Prepare high quality, concise work packs and associated method statements or work instructions as required for work scopes.
• Prepare, validate and sign off on Inspection & Test Records (ITRs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Provide regular progress updates on work pack completion using specified reporting tools.
• Provide a focal point for all technical based queries from engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
• Provide leadership and supervision to work team.
• Creation of implementation plans and effective communication of these plans to supervisors and other team members prior to the start of the work scope.
• Overview activities from an implementation viewpoint while maintaining an open approach to problems and changes.
• Participate in site visits to survey work scopes and build relationships with offshore personnel.
• Provide written reports on implementation activities as required by the Management team.
• Liaise with logistics / supply base focal points to ensure all materials meet with scheduled offshore delivery dates.
• Develop request for quotation (RFQ) and scope of work (SOW) documentation for third party services in compliance with our clients processes and procedures.

Piping Specific
• Ensure full understanding and compliance with our clients piping specifications.
• Review and interpret all offshore piping survey information.
• Review piping isometrics for technical correctness.
• Interface with design engineers as required.
• Interface with QA QC team to ensure all fabrication requirements are adhered to.
• Liaise with fabrication coordinator on progress of fabricated items to ensure they meet with scheduled delivery dates.
• Liaise with logistics / supply base focal points to ensure fabricated items meet with scheduled offshore delivery dates.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience

• Mechanical Trade Certificate or Engineering Qualification.
• Relevant experience in projects, construction, maintenance, operations or shutdowns in an onshore or offshore petrochemical industry.
• Exposure to permit to work (PTW) systems.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in piping or piping project coordination within the offshore engineering or petrochemical industries.
• Knowledge in Piping fabrication requirements, related QA and QC is essential and work packing experience is most desirable.
• Relevant experience with rotating equipment within an offshore environment
• Good working knowledge of maintenance related engineering problems (e.g. corrosion, erosion, hazardous area equipment etc)
