The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil, Gas and Energy Industry. This role supports projects in the North Sea and is based in our client's projects offices in Aberdeen.

The Role:
Summary of Role:

The Lead Offshore Programme (OP) Planning Engineer will be accountable for:

Coordination of the preparation and maintenance of the multi-discipline project plan for Field Suspension, Subsea Facilities, Subsurface, Drilling/Completions, Operations and offshore Commissioning for the Project, including progress updating and associated reporting. Managing the team of planning engineers based in Aberdeen and liaising with the Lead Planning engineer.

Responsibilities:

o Working with the discipline leads, to coordinate the generation, maintainance and update of the multi-discipline project plan (incorporating, as appropriate, information from plans and reports provided from contractors and vendors) which will be used to drive and monitor overall project progress
o Proactively review all planning information, identifying potential problem areas and bringing them to the attention of project management, together with suggested resolutions
o On an as needed basis conduct physical progress audits with the assigned contract planning engineer.
o In conjunction with the Lead Planning Engineer, coordinate the preparation of monthly project reports and project progress presentations
o Work with the discipline leads to identify and resolve inter-discipline planning conflicts with a view to optimising the overall project
o Actively participate in / organise all Offshore Programme planning and review workshops
Input to, review and sign-off of key subcontractor planning documentation

Note: Some travel will be a requirement of the role

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications/Education Required:

o Demonstrable formal training in project planning

Knowledge/Skills (technical & non technical)/Experience/Behaviours Required:

o Significant (10+ years) experience in planning of significant oil and gas projects, including drilling and well operations, fabrication and offshore installation, using Primavera Project Planner and MS Project
o Experience in upstream offshore oil and gas for an Operator company
o Experience in upstream offshore oil and gas for an engineering contractor
o Experience of working in a multi-discipline, multi-cultural project team on a significant offshore project in the petroleum sector
o Flexibility to travel (including both short-term visits to other project locations in Europe and Asia
o A team player with good inter-personal skills
o Results-oriented approach to project work and able to proactively take initiative
