The Company:
Our client is a leader in the Energy industry. They are an electricity and gas company that connects consumers to energy sources through its networks. As a result of a successful project award they are currently looking to recruit a number of engineers for a major FEED study on a flagship CCS project in the UK. Our client is responsible for the engineering, consenting, risk evaluation and full-life cost estimation for the development of the carbon dioxide transport and storage infrastructure

The Role:
The Lead Pipeline Engineer will report to the Lead Engineer (Engineering Manager)

The responsibilities of the Lead Pipeline Engineer will include:

- Contribute to development of suite of basis of design documentation based upon hand-over from research and development / pre-FEED phase of project;
- Develop technical content of ITT documentation and evaluate tenders in support of FEED sub-contractor procurement exercise;
- Once the relevant FEED sub-contractor is selected the Lead Pipeline Engineer will be responsible for the on-going management of the sub-contractor through FEED sub- contract execution;
- Provide technical support in the pipeline discipline to other technical team members managing other FEED sub-contracts;
- Produce and contribute to technical and project documentation and deliverables; and
- Interface with client and technical teams from other consortium companies.

It is expected that the Lead Pipeline Engineer will be the discipline lead and offer technical support where appropriate. They will also be responsible for the approval of the subcontractors technical output and deliverables.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Previous experience of working as a technical lead on engineering design projects is an essential requirement

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Candidates with Chartered status are preferred
• Previous experience of dense phase fluid (preferably carbon dioxide) handling and processing and/or carbon capture and storage systems is desirable but not an essential requirement
