The Company:
Our client is a major oil and gas Operating Company in the State of Qatar

The Role:
Key Areas

• Take lead on Engineering/Design activities in order to have a robust project design for construction.
• Review and lead piping/Mech designs drawings and calculations submitted by engineering/EPCm contractor.
• Selection of piping/pipeline components and specialties as per international codes and Stds. Like ASME, API, MSS-SP etc.
• Assist Project Engineer to update and finalize the project deliverables.
• Resolve plant piping vibration issues and other complex issues relevant for operating plants.
• Initiate and coordinate the approval of deviation or waiver requests as per the established company’s process
• Provide input and coordinate the resolution of any technical/engineering issue related to the project.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders including Operations, Technical, projects Technical Services to seek and incorporate their inputs in the design.


Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries:
• Works in accordance with Company policies, and directives from Project Manager
• Provides technical recommendations on tenders, engineering design and control of contractors, which can have major cost implications for the Company.
• Discusses with Project Engineer about major problems and work progress encountered during projects and provides recommendations.

Communications and Working Relationships:
• Frequent contacts with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Materials personnel up to own level and periodically to next level up.
• Frequent external contacts with contractor’s and supplier’s representatives during planning and execution of projects.

Problem Solving/Complexity:
• Anticipates the problems and takes/recommends timely appropriate mitigating measures.
• Must have the ability to work with the customer and help make decisions on the design basis and engineering solutions. Creation of Design Basis and FEED work

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree qualifications in Mechanical/Piping Engineering
• Strong Analytical Skills .
• Strong interpersonal and ability to work with and supervise multi-discipline team.
• Business communication skills (reports, presentations etc).
• General level of computer literacy with working knowledge of software’s
• Adaptability to multinational environment, with wide exposure to various cultures and customs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Knowledge of hydrocarbon and LNG safety procedures.
• Experience/conversant in use of equipment design software etc.

• Minimum 15 years of experience as a Piping /mechanical engineer associated with Oil & Gas facilities design and trouble shooting well versed with industry standards and international codes
