The Role:
Senior / Lead Planning Engineer – Perth - Long term, continuous project work on world leading projects - $$ Exc per hour + Retention Bonus. Working on world class projects – Global leading business – Work with the industry’s best staff

My client is looking for a Senior / Lead Planning Engineer to work on various Australian projects, from their Perth, Western Australia location. The role will be to assist in leading and developing project planning, analysing and reporting on the status of the Project through the use of scheduling and other associated Project Control systems.. This position reports to the Project Controls Manager or as designated by the Project organisation structure and will require direct interface with Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management Team.

The role will encompass a number of responsibilities. These being (but not limited to):

• Responsible for all assigned planning activities on the Project as directed by the Management Team Project (including but not limited to schedule development and updates, deliverable compilation, progress updates etc).
• Leading or Sole management of planning resource.
• Responsible for the preparing and defining the WBS project in consultation with the Project Team
• Responsible for the collection, accurate interpretation and diligent incorporation and presentation of planning and scheduling data from the Project Team and into the EPCM systems (including EMS and Primavera).
• Responsible for compliance with approved Procedures.
• Responsible for identification and / or preparation, presentation and incorporation of Changes to Project Scope of Work.
• Project specific responsibilities may vary and will be assessed according to requirements and capabilities

We are seeking someone with excellent leadership ability, versed in excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with Group presentation and facilitation skills. Inherent knowledge of Critical Path Methodology and Earned Value and Performance methodologies are essential

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A tertiary level qualification in an Engineering discipline is preferred with at least 10 years Planning experience inclusive of 5 years Project (EPCM) Planning is required, with Railway experience preferred. Mining (M&M) or Infrastructure experience is essential along with at least 7 years advanced Primavera Planning software and Advanced Microsoft Excel and a good level of Microsoft Access experience.
