The Company:
Our Client is a Leading Global Operator in the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
Location: The role will initially be based in Korea, the position holder is likely to be relocated to the UK after 2 years. The role requires travel in Korea and Europe. This can be rotational or residential.

Role Synopsis:
The Lead Planning Engineer will implement a comprehensive schedule control system, including day-to-day planning activities and the integration of Contractor schedules into the overall project Master Control Schedule. This system will form the basis of reporting performance management across the project.

Key Accountabilities:

HSE
1. Support and comply with the project team’s commitment to no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the environment.
2. Ensure full adherence with our client's "Golden rules of safety".

Plans & Procedures
1. Develop the Project Planning/Scheduling Controls strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both the client, (JV) and contractor roles and responsibilities.
2. Adhere to the segment financial and business and project processes.

Estimating
1. Provide the necessary plans/schedules to ensure the development of proper estimates and studies within a project stage and for sanction.
2. Coordinate and/or develop appropriate internal and external schedule benchmarks/technical limits.

Planning:
1. Maintain the project wide WBS/CBS, working with the Cost Engineering Team.
2. Understand the technical scope of the work and the right sequence and duration of activities to create a viable project plan to achieve the business objectives.
3. Coordinate preparation of schedule risk analysis.

Scheduling:
1. Understand what resources are required for executing the set of activities and when activities can be performed given competing resource demands.
2. Ensure the preparation and development of appropriate detail and summary plans/schedules; integrate contractor and our client's own generated plans/schedules into the Master

Control Schedule.
3. Implement, and monitor schedules within each project stage and for entire project until completion/close-out.
4. Look ahead to ensure readiness to progress forward works.
5. Recognize opportunities and resource optimizations to most efficiently execute the planned set of activities.
6. Ensure the preparation and develop the interface schedules.
7. Ensure alignment between contractors schedules
8. Develop a detailed schedule for all key Close-Out activities and tracks progress against this schedule

Project Management of Change
1. Provide schedule input to and implement schedule element of the project management of change procedure.
2. Interfacing with the Change Coordinators on each team.

Risk Management
1. Provide schedule input to and implement the schedule element of risk management plan.
2. Coordinate the development of risk mitigation plans. (as delegated)
3. Link schedule element of risk process to change process and estimate.

PU/SPU Interface
1. Monitor and maintain the interface between asset and project schedules.
2. Develop schedules to meet the RPU Integrity Management System requirements

Reporting
1. Prepare and implement project wide progress measurement and reporting system, including roll-up levels, section weightings and reporting cycle calendar.
2. Developing and issuing various reports to appropriate stakeholders.
3. Prepare and present Project information to appropriate stakeholders.
4. Develop commercial interface

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
1. Significant (15+ years) experience in planning of significant oil and gas projects, including drilling and well operations, fabrication and offshore installation, using Primavera Project Planner.
2. 5+ years experience in a lead / Planning Manager role
3. Experience in upstream offshore oil and gas for an Operator company
4. Experience of working in a multi-discipline, multi-cultural project team on a significant offshore project in the petroleum sector
5. Flexibility to travel (including short-term visits to other project locations in Aberdeen, Monaco and Singapore.
6. A team player with good inter-personal skills
7. Results-oriented approach to project work and able to proactively take initiative
8. The candidate should be an analytical problem solver with the ability and persistence to resolve issues at detailed level
9. Fluent written/spoken English
