The Role:
Position Summary
The Lead Planning Engineer will be responsible for the preparation, progress updating and maintenance of the project schedule at all levels to ensure control of all associated project work for phases 3 – 4 (from front end engineering definition through to commissioned plant). The Lead planning Engineer shall co-ordinate the efforts of the planning team across all project locations areas and with external interfaces.

Experience/ Qualifications
Minimum 15 years Oil/Gas or Petrochemical capital projects experience, with both HO and onsite construction experience. Hands-on user of Primavera P5/ P6 planning software for schedule development, resourcing and bespoke report/ graphics generation.
Qualifications: Recognized higher engineering qualification or degree.

General Responsibilities
Develop, empower and mentor Kazakh national planning staff in all aspects of planning and schedule management of the project.
Prepare and manage overall integrated EPC master project schedules and detailed schedules using critical path network format for each project area utilizing the project approved Work Breakdown Structure and Schedule Hierarchy, using company’s corporate Primavera P6 software package.
Liaise with multiple contractors’ project control teams, establish common project wide schedule content/format and coordinate contractor schedule content with multiple contractors and incorporate the information gathered into the overall EPC project master schedule.
Develop and maintain Owner team detailed construction schedules with discipline resource allocations, and co-ordinate with Operations shutdown planning group and Commissioning..
Monitor and forecast progress of activities of owner team and contractors’ work. Confirm that critical paths are realistic and highlights problem areas with recommended remedial actions.
Provide weekly and monthly project reports with deviation analysis for management and partners.
Assist project team in developing alternative execution strategies for critical work areas to resolve problems before or during execution.
Provide summarized schedule data and CPM schedule logic to perform periodic 3rd party probabilistic risk analysis of project completion dates and develop potential alternatives.
Assist project team to develop risk mitigation strategies and plans for schedule related risks.
Establish project wide progress assessment basis and reporting system. Prepare plan/actual/ forecast progress curves, histograms, tabulations and other schedule graphics for monthly and other periodic reports.
Liaise with team and attend coordination meetings to communicate required completion dates and interfaces between responsible parties.
Assist cost control group with planning of expenditure, progress and value of work evaluation and forecasting.
Assist in detailed material procurement planning and physical progress assessment.
Develop contract coordination requirements for scheduling, progress assessment and reporting with the contracts engineer.
