The Role:
Position reports to: Project Services Manager

General Information:
Through a Joint Venture with the Iraq South Gas Company (SGC), the company anticipates to execute the Iraq South Gas Utilisation Project, which positions business as the first major International Oil Company within the Iraqi oil and gas market. The ISGU project will refurbish, upgrade or replace the existing gas compression and treatment facilities, improve the supply of gas to the domestic market and provide a new export system through a new LNG plant, subject to certain conditions and milestones being met. The project at the start will be executed from the Company's Dubai office with frequent visits and rotation to Iraq as the project progresses further. The base project will essentially refurbish, upgrade or replace the existing gas compression and treatment facilities to return them to name plate and/or de-bottlenecked capacity whilst the LNG project will provide an export route. In addition the projects will look to provide self-sustaining utility provision to the Joint Venture assets, particularly power provision.

Purpose: To deliver and maintain standard, consistent and accurate project reports reflecting the up-to-date status of the Project(s), incorporating Project and Venture Management comments and requirements and tailored for its purpose.

Main Activities and Accountabilities:

• Develop, deliver and maintain consistent and accurate Project and Venture reports.
• Develop and maintain the list of reports required for the project/venture and map contents for consistency and efficiency.
• Report the status of project/venture activities and progress against baselines and plans, including highlights, issues, concerns, risks and mitigations.
• Maintain the status reporting framework and implement throughout the reporting hierarchy.
• Reconcile new reports against earlier reports.
• Liaise with and challenge Project staff to ensure proper understanding of the key reporting requirements.
• Review, comment and challenge contractor reports.
• Contribute to reporting close-out data to enable knowledge retention (lessons learned, project data compilation) at completion of work.
• Develop contractor reporting requirements.
• Contribute to peer reviews and other assurance events.
• Contribute to the development of BGC staff through coaching and training in reporting practices, tools and techniques.
• Set-up and maintain effective interfaces and good working relationships with all report input providers.
• Support cost and planning engineers with reporting and cost and schedule forecasting issues.
• Support Finance / Project Accounting with cost reporting and forecasting.
• Manage all project regular reporting activities in accordance with company's and JV procedures on a bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly basis.
• Collate and prepare all information required for the Project Dashboard and similar reporting requirements, including Project KPI data, HSSE Statistics, etc.
• Produce ad-hoc reports as and when required.

Special Challenges:
• Ability to work effectively with all the various Functions in the Joint Venture and with the Project team.
• Ensuring the proper instruction of local national employees with little formalized training.
• Language barriers as many of the Iraqi Nationals are not fluent in English

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum 20 year’s planning experience within the oil & gas industry.
• Integrated Planning experience for a portfolio of projects or a mega project.
• Varied project experience (including either or all of Gas projects, Greenfield/Brownfield projects, Shutdown/turnaround planning) across all project phases.
• Solid Team leadership skills, along with ability to establish credibility with both project staff (local and expat) and senior management.
• Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with different management levels.
• Must be a Team player and self-motivated.
• Ability to handle conflict and challenges with regards to work inputs/outputs and ability to put forward sound arguments in support of decisions and recommendations.
• Ability to work under time pressure within a project environment.
• Ability to actively engage with project team members.
