Lead Planning Engineer - Onshore Construction

The Company:
Global oil company currently involved in a number of interesting and complex projects worldwide.

The Role:
• To lead all planning activity for Onshore Terminal construction scope (including off-site fabrication and interface between CPI and construction schedule) and provide single point functional planning interface between the Onshore Construction Team team in Baku and the Central Planning Team.
• Support the Project Construction Manager(s) to achieve contract objectives.
• To manage the team of planning engineers covering Terminal construction scope in Baku.
• Ensure timely and high quality delivery against key planning activities and deliverables (see detailed roles and responsibilities)
• Ensure contractor compliance with contractual planning, scheduling and reporting requirements especially those detailed contractually within the Project Coordination Procedures (PCP).
• Ensure client compliance with GPO OMS documentation.
• Prepare, agree and deliver the personnel development plans for local planners.

• Ensure key planning deliverables are developed, maintained, assessed, and communicated:
• Perform “what if” and/or risked scheduling scenarios (as required) in order to recover schedule deviations along with assisting with development of alternative work sequences
• Ensure deliverables based progress measurement system is established for Terminal Construction scope.
• Provide experience-based estimates for best-case, most-likely, and worst-case activity durations as inputs to schedule risk analysis (SRA) activities
• Actively observe, assess, evaluate, and determine construction activities first-hand to ensure satisfactory execution progress in accordance with the project schedule
• Ensure that actual progress data are incorporated into the Live Schedule
• Lead 6-monthly planning input to Cost and Schedule Verification Reviews (CSVR’s) including bottoms-up review of the schedule, applying an overview to the contractor’s schedule or re-base lining if deemed necessary. Lead site team discussions regarding planning and progress
• Ensure compliance with planning and scheduling practices and procedures
• Make sure all site reports are prepared on time and reviewed by delivery teams before issue.

• Work with Delivery Managers, Construction Manager, Commissioning Manager, PSM, PSTL, Central Planning Team Lead and Lead Cost Engineer.
• Work with the Contractor Lead Planning Engineers
• Contractor and client interface management representatives
• Internal Engineering and Procurement PS Teams
• In-country Planning Team Leads

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Primavera P6 version 7, Acumen Fuse, Microsoft Office applications
• Substantial construction-related planning and scheduling experience on oil & gas facilities.
