The Company:
Our client is a Global Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group inside which you’ll find an incredible range of expertise and opportunity.
They offer their clients a complete range of skills and services so that they can work with their teams right from the earliest ‘ideas’ stage of their planned investments, through the study or concept selection phase, the front-end design, the EPC phase, and on into the commissioning and start-up phase.

The Role:
•Expedite development of baseline schedules, support schedule review meetings where necessary and coordinate PMC team’s schedule review comments
•On-going quality assurance role over the EPC contractor’s schedule control tools and processes. This will include
◦Monitoring the accurate maintenance of schedules such that they reflect actual project status, that baseline schedule logic is preserved, and schedule outlook is realistic
◦Provide input into EPC contractor proposed schedule recovery plans and monitor their effectivenes
◦Monitor and audit effectiveness of EPC contractor schedule integration between work centres
◦Undertake ongoing reviews to ensure that the full scope of the project is represented in the schedule
◦Review and agree the incorporation of approved contract changes into the schedule by the EPC contractor
•Spot checking the accuracy and consistency of EPC contractor project status report output and challenging any inaccuracies or unapproved changes to baselines
•Monitor contractor’s earned value progress reporting, undertaking spot checks and audits of actual progress claimed, and supporting the verification of payment milestones claimed as achieved
•Provide an independent view of project status and progress trends and input into schedule risk analysis
•At key points in the project conduct in depth reviews into the EPC contractor schedule outlook and prepare an independent schedule outlook assessment
•Identify and monitor status of any owner / PMC team activities, preparing focus schedules to assist in coordinating owner activities (eg. major design review schedule), to avoid potential delays to the EPC contractor as a result of owner activities
•Review and challenge the EPC contractor‘s assessment of the schedule impact of changes, or third party delays
•Monitor contractor’s development of construction turnover, pre-commissioning, commissioning / start up / performance testing schedules
•Maintain commercial and contractual awareness
•Expedite weekly and monthly progress reports to the Client Directorate
•Provide regular forecasting of project schedule including key milestones to the Client Directorate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Engineering degree preferred
•Experience in a similar position
•Experience in PMC / EPC organisations in the field of Refinery / Petrochemicals for major projects of value not less than US $ 500 Million each
•Previous experience with Tier 1 O&G company would be an advantage
•Knowledge of PRIMAVERA software packages
•Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious
•A pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job done
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Willing to share information
•Minimum industrial experience (years): 15
•Experience in similar positions (years): 5
