Our Client is a global leading operating company.

The Role:
Location - Houston with Business Travel Overseas and potential relocation overseas in 2013

MAIN FUNCTIONS

The Planning Lead is a specialist in project schedule preparation. The PL reviews Company generated schedules for usefulness, logic, level of detail, input sources, timing, lines of communication, and interfaces with other functional elements and consistency with Current Control Estimate, WBS, and the Project Plan.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise
• Maintain close liaison with members of the Project Services organization
• Develop Level 1 and Level 2 schedules for all pre-Gate 2 Projects
• Monitor Project Schedules as needed by Area Supervisors
 Schedule development, control and progress measurement
• Advise the Project organizations with respect to:
 Project controls tools and reports
 Operators efforts in schedule

2. Supporting PTs and Area Supervisors with ongoing project cost and schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and Change Management.
• Develop and document Schedules annual and multi-year, and ensuring that these products reflect the approved project design/execution scope
• Analyze schedule trends, develop and review schedule forecasts
• Monitor and report on schedule implications of changes
• Participate in contract commercial bid evaluations (as required)
• Participate in developing Contract Control Schedules and Milestones
• Assist management in developing/reviewing schedule corrective actions and recovery plans, and making sure needed actions/plans are implemented.

3. Maintain regular contact with project teams and with Head Office.
• Maintain close liaison with planning engineers in the project teams
• Provide direction and feedback to Project planning and control engineers on schedule aspects of the project

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology preferred
• 10 - 15 years prior oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Willing to work overseas in a team environment
• Willing to relocate to required project site
• Adaptability to changing priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and respond quickly to urgent analysis requests
