The Role:
Basic Purpose of Job:
◦Develop process designs with technical integrity, fit for purpose, that meet the needs of the client. Provide focal point for all Process Group queries, provide training and support to less experienced members of the team.

Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
◦Safety & Technical integrity in process design, checking design work, supervision & on job training of less experienced process engineers.
◦For those in supervisory roles, carry out competence assessment and appraisals in respect of departmental staff in accordance with the company People+Review requirements.

Main Duties:
◦Technically directing and controlling all aspects of process design activities.
◦Carrying out process design activities.
◦Carrying out process troubleshooting activities.
◦Liaising and co-ordinating with other discipline groups to ensure deliverables are produced to meet deadlines and within budget constraints.
◦Producing and reviewing documents, study reports and design calculations and ensuring conformance to engineering quality and competence.
◦Allocating and managing all discipline resources, including input to manpower plans.
◦Ensuring compliance of all activities with the company's Health, Safety Environmental and Quality policies.
◦Promoting safe behaviour at all times.
◦Coaching, supporting and developing Process engineers and draughtsmen to achieve their career potential.
◦Provide dynamic leadership and motivation of the project team.
◦Provide support and advice to management in developing appropriate contracting and fabrication strategies for future projects.
◦Assist in developing improved methods of project management and control that will improve efficiency and reduce risk.
◦Encouraging the utilisation of local academics to the Process Engineering Department.
◦Assisting in the mentoring of locally acquired Process Engineering resources.
◦Establish strong working relationships with internal and external interfaces.
◦Accountable for profitability of the project, within the agreed terms of contract strategy.
◦Robustly manage all design change issues to ensure that neither technical integrity nor financial status are compromised.
◦Provide accurate monthly status reports.
◦Ensure compliance to all relevant Company management systems and where applicable client procedures and statutory requirements.
◦Ensure that workscope is executed in accordance with agreed process and procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Minimum BSc/ BEng/ MEng in Chemical Engineering. In exceptional circumstances, degree level qualifications in other relevant subjects may be considered (i.e. Mechanical Engineering), however, this must be accompanied with significant experience in process design & operations.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Preferably chartered (CEng or equivalent) and member of relevant professional institution.
•Significant process design experience. Preferably gained in the UK or Norwegian offshore oil & gas industries.
•Experience in other related industries including refinery or petrochemical will also be considered.
