The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing a Lead Process Engineer to join a new site-based team on a contact hire basis. As part of a long term alliance with a global chemical client they are undertaking major revamp and modification/upgrade projects to help modernize the client’s production facilities in Antwerp, Belgium.
The candidate will be a Lead Process Engineer with a proven track record in brownfield chemical or fine chemical projects and will help support and grow a site-based engineering design team that will execute FEED and detailed design projects as part of long term engagement with our client.
Location of works: Belgium, Antwerp
Site based role as part of a long term alliance project.
Good communication and presentation skills are essential, with Dutch or Flemish as a first language and English as a second.
Some travel to European execution centres will be required.
Core Responsibilities:
• To assist the client in developing scopes of work for new project concepts
• To undertake Process engineering design work in with true regard to Safety both in design detail and engineering design execution
• To carry out design work in compliance with the national, state and client asset Codes & Standards.
• To engineer all design work in line with the QA manual and procedures.
• To be innovative in design work with due regard to minimisation of cost whilst maintaining technical integrity
• To undertake all work within the estimated man hour budget and within schedule
• To assist in the recruitment and development of Process engineers.
• To keep all documentation in a state of readiness for Audit purposes
Specific Accountabilities:
• To provide definition of the engineering work for the project
• To clearly understand the Codes and Standards applicable to the work carried out and raise deviations where necessary
• Estimate engineering manhours
• Responsible for maintaining work progress (budget, schedule) and raising change documentation where necessary.
• Supervision of technical detail, budget and schedule of design.
• Liaison with client, vendors and outside parties in a professional manner
• To plan manhour budgets and schedules for all Projects.
• To manage all resources allocated to the site-based team
• To liaise with the equivalent client focal point on technical and engineering matters s
• Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
• Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the Project. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
• Professional Engineer or Chartered Engineer status
• Significant experience in chemical FEED, EPC Design Projects.
• Proven track record engineering design.
• Excellent technical communication and coordination skills.
• Lead experience or capability of leading an engineer team.
