The Company:
Our client are a major Operator within the Oil and Gas Industry.

The Role:
The Lead Process Engineer duties will include but not be limited to the following:

•Champions and actively participates in HES initiatives (POWER BBS) to achieve an incident and injury free culture throughout the project and amongst key stakeholders.
•Acts as the project technical focal point for issues concerning Process design review, HASOP, PIDs, PFD. heat and material balance and all process engineering activities.
•Liaises with multifunctional asset team, i.e. FE, Operations, to identify parallel projects and/or synergies that may influence or impact concept selection.
•Participates in project assurance workshops (i.e.VIP’s) throughout Phase 2 and ensures discipline design investigation work is completed by the responsible parties.
•Liaises with other Major Capital Projects (MCP) for the company to get best value and lessons learned in terms of automation system performance / delivery on the project.
•Provides oversight and guidance to the Contractor in development of process engineer strategies, cost and schedule estimates, and engineering deliverables for the preferred facility concepts.
•Ensures that the selected concept is safe, operable, maintainable, cost-effective, constructible, and reliable and meets the design intent of the project, and project functional objectives (PFO).
•Liaises with multifunctional asset team, i.e. Subsea, Electrical disciplines, to ensure seamless system integration for the selected concept.
•Understands customer focus and anticipates opportunities.
•Reviews and approves process engineering deliverables submitted by the Contractor ensuring full life-cycle technical integrity issues are considered throughout the project life; i.e. pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design, procurement/manufacture, construction, installation, commissioning and planned operation and maintenance.
•Reviews and approves project MOC’s interfacing with the MOC coordinator when necessary.
•Supports review, leads in some cases and verification of design, within discipline, by participation in HAZIDs, HAZOP/CHAZOPs, LOPA reviews, etc. Ensuring timely resolution and closure of associated action items.
•Develops a process plan and schedule for integration into the overall project schedule.
•Develops weekly progress reports identifying key areas of opportunity and risk. Provides input into monthly project reporting.
•Insures and responsible for all process and utilities design requirements for topsides facilities.
•Responsible for technical mentoring of junior process engineer. Will also be responsible for leading the process engineering team and directing the scope of work for the team ensuring it is in line with business objectives.
•Supervise contractor to ensure accurate, on-time and on budget along with the process engineer for the development of PFD, PID, Heat and Material balance calculations. Responsible for approving/reviewing any process engineering documentation which is generated.
•As process engineering technical authority for the project responsible for reviewing all technical work and providing expertise and technical guidance on relevant industry and CVX standards to adhere to.
•Ensure that HES project goals are achieved by incorporating these in the process design to achieve incident and injury free operations.
•Oversee the development of technology plan and provide technical expertise as required
•Actively participate in the development of project execution plan
•Process engineering will be the focal point for HAZIDs and HAZOPs carried out by contractor. Ensure HES input is provided accordingly to the contractor and provide technical input/facilitate as required.
•Oversee the conceptual design of alternatives and alternative selection process.
•Responsible for the development of technical specifications used by contractor and ensure these are updated and re-issued
•Direct work to ensure all DSP process engineering deliverables are provided accurately and on time. Responsible for reviewing technical content.
•Responsible for reviewing Greenfield and Brownfield HYSIS model work to ensure it is accurate and correct.
•Identify project risks and ensure these are recorded and kept up to date in the project risk register. Responsible for generating mitigation plans for the assigned risks.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Holds a bachelor degree in relevant field or equivalent expertise.
•At least ten (10) years experience in an operating company.
•Experience managing personnel and/or driving contractor to get results.
•Extensive knowledge of industry standards related to process engineering including best practices for standards and procedures.
•Ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner to keep Company personnel abreast of on going operations.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Ideally a chartered engineer or working towards chartered status.
•BOSIT (offshore survival)
