The Role:
Provide process engineering services to a multi-discipline project engineering team in the Engineering contractor’s office to support the design development of the project facilities.
Key responsibilities are to provide direction to and monitor engineering contractor's FEED, and detailed engineering process work and review deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements and schedule.
Work with the FEED contractor to progress the FEED design quickly to an approved-for-design issue status in FEED and immediately continue the design activities into detailed design with the same contractor.
Progress the detailed design to approved-for-construction status and remain with the technical team through construction and startup as required.
Take a leadership role in progressing the design through the various reviews including P&ID/ design reviews and safety reviews such as PHA, HAZOP and Safety Objectives Analysis (SIL workshop).
As a leader of the process team, develop process engineering documentation for the project including Process Safety Information (PSI) documents.
Support the development and implementation of an Incident and Injury Free culture at the engineering contractor’s office, the fabrication sites and offshore sites by emphasizing process safety management in design.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager (EM). Travel for meetings and site visits will be required. The position will be located in the FEED contractor’s office in the greater London area.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Candidate must have served as lead process engineer on projects with more than one process engineer assigned and/or as a Company design representative in a design contractor's office. Candidate must have demonstrated capability to handle complex and concurrent projects with multiple facets.
Extensive process controls experience would be considered a plus. Experience in leading process professionals in dynamic simulation would be a plus also.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Direct knowledge and ability to utilize computer simulation and design tools is required.
Previous or extensive experience with HYSIS would be an advantage. Experience with Pipephase is also advantageous.
Client utilizes the Microsoft suite of products; Word, Excel, Access, and Project are commonly utilized.
The process engineer must have experience extracting operating data from a DCS system and database.
Excellent oral and written communications skills are necessary, including the ability to develop and write clear operating procedures.
The engineer is required to communicate on technical and non-technical topics within the project team and with other projects, departments and organizations.
Ability to work in a multi-lingual atmosphere and ability to speak English is essential.
Project Management/Decision-Making: Effectively leads and communicates within a multi-discipline collaborative environment.
Demonstrates understanding of customer focus.
