The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.
In Australia they are involved in one of the Country's largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in Execution Stage.

The Role:
Our client is currently recruiting for a Lead Project Accountant Onshore who will be responsible for the execution of Finance operations respectively to the Downstream packages for the company's LNG project.

The role supports the Project Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the following;

• Continuously improve and deliver monthly financial reports for project management that identify divergent performance, provide accurate project cost information and focuses attention on critical objectives such as budget, forecasts, and AFE position
• Oversee month end activities pertaining to the projects such as accruals, provisions and other deliverables such as cash call
• Ensure adherence to the business Accounting principles and governance standards
• Progress the development phase of the project on time and under budget, including; plan, organise & control costs, maintain a transparent cost control system, prepare accurate reports and monitor compliance
• Provide ongoing support to packages by analysing the commercial and contractual risks and recommend mitigation actions
• Analyse and forecast foreign currency commitments and positions to understand exposure
• Prepare Budget and Forecast information for submission for approval by the Board and JV participant
• Educate project staff regarding purpose, structure and guidelines of finance management and forecasting

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
To be considered for these roles you will require at least a finance undergraduate degree, be CPA/CA/CIMA qualified and have substantial demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• 10+ years financial experience within the oil & gas industry preferably in Major Development projects
• Good commercial acumen and experience with contract risk exposure
• Previous experience with overseas fabrication yards or project construction, highly regarded
• Solid experience in compliance, controls and audits
• Solid experience with SAP preferred (FI, CO, BW)
