The Company:
Our client is a large multi-national organization which explores, develops, produces and markets crude oil, gas and sulfur. They pride themselves in conducting operations in accordance with the world–class safety and environmental standards.

The Role:
The Project Engineer is a member of the Engineering Team, supporting the Project valued in excess of $300 Million which will be transitioning from Phase 2 to 3 in 2011. The Project will upgrade crude oil export capacity to capture the economic benefit of diverting shipments from rail to the expanded pipeline system with emphasis on safety, reliability and cost.
The Project is seeking a general all-around experienced Project Engineer who will report to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for providing general technical as well as project engineering support to the Project during all phases of Engineering:
The Project Engineer is required to:
oReview FEED Contractors Deliverables for:
•process
•civil and structural facilities,
•piping and facilities layout
•material selection, corrosion monitoring and protection
•geotechnical, geophysical investigations and various surveys required to provide input into the design
•construction methods and features
oEnsure Operational Excellence, Operations Assurance and Safety in Design requirements are satisfied during all Engineering phases.
oSupport IIF culture within team and champion within FEED & Detailed Design Engineering Contractor
oSupport or develop the required documentation to support Project Assurance activities and Approval Gates and participation in these activities as required.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate must have an engineering degree with a minimum of ten years experience.
Good coordination and forward planning ability with a proactive approach. Must be willing to mentor National engineers working on the project team.

Familiar with both Project and Corporate management systems and procedures. Must be familiar with all aspects of petrochemical design. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Will be required to work in a multicultural environment and will be expected to assist in the training and development of Kazakh National staff. Also, the following criteria will be applied in the selection process:
•Mechanical: possess an understanding of typical process plant engineering deliverables such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, piping general arrangements, isometrics etc. Must have good communication skills and be able to function in a multicultural environment. An understanding of stress analysis and CAESAR II software would be advantageous.
