The Company:
The client is a leader within the Automation and Control Systems field with operations in 100 countries worldwide. They specialise in providing integrated solutions to the Transmission and Distribution and Oil & Gas industry with projects offshore and overseas.

The Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lead Project Manager based out of the Stone offices. This position will take full responsibility for the successful and safe execution of a group of Power Systems projects to budget and programme.

• Ensure all Health Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHESQ) requirements and implications are managed effectively and efficiently throughout the lifecycle of projects within the LPM portfolio
• Embrace and promote a Zero Harm safety culture within project teams
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the portfolio of projects’ scope of work
• Ensure robust commercial and financial status, risks and opportunity of all projects is robust and accurately reported including cash flow forecasting
• Support the Tendering team and give direction in the order pursuit process (helping to develop capture and execute strategy) - achieve clarity of expectation throughout the demand and supply chain
• Coach Project Managers and provide support to ensure the safe, on-time and to-budget delivery of project deliverables is maintained
• Ensure positive engagement of all stakeholders and facilitate clear and concise communication channel development and maintenance
• Effectively manage changes in the scope (and the associated commercial aspects) driven by client, internally or the supply chain to maximise ABB’s contractual position
• Ensure all procedures and processes are rigorously adhered to
• Review all project programmes to ensure milestone delivery is maintained

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• ONC level (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline – Electrical or Mechanical.
• Computer literacy – Minimum Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Recognised Health, Safety and Environmental qualification, IOSH, NEBOSH or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of CDM.
• Demonstrable knowledge/experience of project management principles.
• Experience of developing, leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary project team
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Experience working in the Electricity Supply Industry (or similar client base with projects incorporating electrical engineering scope).
• Recognised Project management qualification.
• Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
