Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.

The Role:
Lead QA Engineer / QA Manager – Oil Field Upgrade Projects Job Title
Location - UK - Stockport Manchester, UK
Degree educated - essential - due to end client requirements.

Our client is currently sourcing a Lead QA Engineer / QA Manager to join their North West Office on an agency hire basis.

As part of a long term alliance with a major Oil & Gas client based in Kuwait they are undertaking major revamp and modification/upgrade projects to help modernize the client’s Main Gathering Center located at Wafra, Kuwait with many sub-centers throughout the three main oil fields that require modifications and further expansion.

The candidate will be a Lead QA Engineer / QA Manager with a proven track record in brownfield onshore oil and gas development projects to help support a UK based project engineering design team that will execute FEED and detailed design projects as part of the overall modernisation project. Our client also handle most innovative projects involving Concept/ FEED studies, EPC Detailed Design Projects and Process Safety and Risk management as part of the overall project scope of works.

Good communication and presentation skills are essential. Some travel to Kuwait may be required.

All candidates must have substantial Oil & Gas experience.

Core Responsibilities:
Functional responsibility for Quality Management, Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities on the Project.
Provides quality support and guidance in managing contractors, subcontractors and vendors in ensuring that work is performed safely and consistent with the project procedures.
Preparation and presentation of Project Inductions and Quality guidance for the project team.
Preparation of Project Quality Documents including Policy, Plan, Audit Schedule and associated Quality specific procedures, specifications and guidelines.
Ensures that engineering activities are executed as per the approved schedule plans.
Ensures all project information related to design, procurement and construction is accurate and timely.
Ensures quality of all required drawings, specs, and procedures necessary for field installation.
Implements procedures to ensure standards and practices are followed on all project work.
Establishes acceptance criteria for engineered equipment.
Reviews contractors' and subcontractors' quality plans and ensures these support the overall project plans and goals.
Reviews all execution plans and ensures these comply with company's quality control objectives and engineering standards.
Works closely with the procurement staff in developing efficient materials issuance processes and accountabilities.
Works with Company and contractor to resolve all quality control related issues and engineering questions.
Assures that all project closeout reports are completed.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree level education is essential due to client requirements.
Significant experience in Oil & Gas brownfield FEED, EPC Design Projects.
Proven track record engineering design.
Excellent technical communication and coordination skills.
Practical experience of plant and vendor inspection of all types of mechanical equipment typically required at oil / gas installations, both on-shore and offshore.
Excellent written, coordination and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with ISO 9000 and 14000 Series and international standards relevant to oil and gas industry.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
