The Company:
Our client is a major global Oil and Gas EPC management company that can cover small Brownfield projects to major Greenfield projects.
They are a growth company who can serve as a Sole Supplier, Joint Venture or Subcontractor. With a proven track record of delivering large scale complex projects they are a progressive and attractive company.

The Role:
We are currently sourcing a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Teesside/Billingham Office on an Agency hire basis.

The candidate will be a Lead QA Engineer with a proven track record in onshore/offshore oil and gas development projects to assist on a large LNG Terminals Project acting as the Owners Engineer/PMC role initially in assessing the EPC Contractors bids, carrying out clarifications, bid evaluation with recommendations. Prepare the PMC Management Plans for the PMC role for after the EPC Contractor has been selected.

Duration: 6 months plus with opportunity to move with the project overseas for a duration of 2-3 years.

Scope will also include QA activities for other projects in the Teesside Office:

Manage project service and product verification and inspection of the project deliverables consistent with criticality assessments and contractual and regulatory obligations.
Manage project quality support functions including quality planning, preventive action, non-conformance control, corrective action, management of change, audits and project quality reporting and review.

Key Accountabilities
• Promote awareness of the Project Quality Policy and objectives throughout the project team.
• Ensure the project team understands the plan to meet the objectives.
Plan, establish and maintain an affective project QMS to guide and monitor project performance.
• Monitoring the project QMS for sustainability, adequacy and effectiveness by scheduling planned quality assessments and surveillance activities.
• Coordinate changes to the project QMS.
• Ensure that the relevant project requirements are established, communicated and fulfilled by the team.
• Support the Project Manager in the implementation of the project QMS.
• Ensure effective communication across project interfaces both within the project team and between the project team and other parties.
• Managing the QC inspection process including the QC interface.

Skills/Experience
• Experience as a Senior Quality Engineer experience within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Certified Lead Assessor – Quality Management Systems.
• Previous QA/QC experience on ‘onshore’ and ‘offshore’ Oil & Gas facilities.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management/engagement skills.
• Able to work with clients Senior Management Team.
• QC experience in fabrication, inspection and FAT testing (desirable).
Able to review QA/QC inspection records.
• Able to prepare QA Assurance Schedule and Project Quality Plans.
Experience of working with sub-contractors and sub-suppliers.


• Degree or HNC qualified
• Significant experience in Oil & Gas PMC FEED, EPC Design Projects.
• Proven track record engineering design.
• Excellent technical communication and coordination skills.
• Practical experience of plant and vendor inspection of all types of mechanical equipment typically required at oil / gas installations, both on-shore and offshore.
• Excellent written, coordination and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 and 14000 Series and international standards relevant to oil and gas industry.
