The Role:
Role synopsis: The Lead Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer will fulfill the quality management requirements on projects. The Lead QA/QC Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and directing the overall BP Projects Quality Management Program (PQMP) for all applicable activities and projects, and oversight of EPMS contractors’ quality management system. He/She shall assure that the program complies with and incorporates the requirements of the clients E&P Quality Management & Integrity Management guidelines, in accordance with MPcp / SPcp requirements.
This position is assigned to a specific project or program and reports directly to the Quality Manager through the project organization. The Lead Quality Assurance / Quality Control Engineer is accountable for delivering assurance support on a specific project or program and will take direction for those deliverables from the specific project organization.

Key Accountabilities: Implement a comprehensive quality control system, and develop specific quality management requirements covering the span of project activities, from engineering, procurement, construction, to commissioning and start-up. Provide oversight and performance management of EPMS contractors quality management system.

Key Responsibilities: Develop project specific quality management requirements for PEPs, and provide guidance to project managers on best quality practices
Develop project specific quality management plan according to the provided standards, incorporating lessons learned previously identified in the Knowledge Management plan.
Provide quality input to each CVP stage DSP.
Provide guidance to project manager on best quality practices.
Contribute quality measures and strategy to the Contracting & Procurement plan.
Monitor EPMS contractor performance metrics and perform quality assurance audits as required. Ensure quality performance requirements are clearly defined, and followed
Provide guidance on the quality management requirements for material management, including Supplier Quality Surveillance requirements
Ensure a QA / QC plan is in place and monitor execution against the plan.
Provide support as requested during commissioning.
Verify all non-conformances have been resolved.
Define the quality requirements for project handover.
Provide input to capture lessons learned and enter them into the knowledge management / empirical databases / shared learning system at the conclusion of each CVP stage of the project

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in engineering, technical field or management degree with extensive technical experience.
Must have substantial background in implementing and managing quality systems, writing quality plans, conducting quality assessments/surveillances and coaching the project team in quality principles/improvement.
Understanding the work process and have experience in working with EPMS contractors.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and diversity skills.
Strong HSSE focus and commitment.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ten years of progressive experience in project quality management of engineering, procurement, suppliers, and construction.
A minimum of five years of this experience must be in a decision-making position.
Certifications in the following areas or equivalent:
Certified Manager of Quality
Certified Quality Engineer
Certified Quality Auditor
