The Company:
A Nuclear Industry Specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, with projects working across the complete lifecycle from new build, through operations and maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste management. My client has been involved in the design, supply testing and licensing of RAMt flask/containers, working for a variety of customers both nationally and internationally.

The Role:
The Lead RAM Transport Engineer will be responsible for the continuing requirement to revalidate existing RAMt flasks/containers as well as having to design “new” flasks/containers.

As a Lead RAM Transport Engineer your main duties will involve:

• Preparing detailed engineering assessments of existing flasks/containers as well as conceptual and detailed designs for “new” flasks/containers.
• Providing technical support/advice during the manufacturing process for all flasks/container designs.
• Specifying and witnessing the full scale prototype testing program of any “new” flasks/containers.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• HNC qualification or better within a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Competence gained in a mechanical design delivery position.
• Experience in the nuclear sector is preferred but not essential.
• Technical experience gained from, but not limited to, precision engineering, conveyer systems, remote handling systems / equipment, heavy engineering, cranes, pipes and pumps
• A fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ability to demonstrate experience gained in a design delivery role ideally from a highly regulated industry such as the Defence, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Water or Food industry sectors.
• Team leading experience within a project environment would be advantageous.
