The Company:
Our Client is an International Company involved in the supply of Energy globally. Their Operations cover Exploration, Production and Downstream and at present they have projects in over 25 Countries worldwide.

In Australia they are involved in one of the largest LNG Projects, including both Gas and Condensate which is currently in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) Stage. Project expecting FID December 2011.

The Role:
Based in Japan as the Rotating Equipment Engineer you will be reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will supervise and approve design and selection of rotating equipment, including compressors, turbines, expanders, pumps etc for onshore LNG plant, and review and approval of rotating equipment datasheets, specifications and requisitions.

• Participate in Design and Operability Reviews and Design Audits
• Review and comment on Contractor / Supplier documentation in a timely manner
• Oversee the technical bid evaluation, technical clarifications, inspections during fabrication, performance testing at vendor location, supervision of site installation, testing and commissioning
• Conduct Inspection and Factory Acceptance Tests of Rotating Equipment
• Organise, manage and control Third Party support studies
• Oversee the EPC Contractor on all aspects of design, construction, installation and hookup and commissioning of rotating equipment for Onshore LNG Facilities to meet project requirements
• Support QA/QC Project staff and interfaces with EPC Contractor personnel
• Ensure operations and maintenance requirements are incorporated in the design
• Liaise with JV partner to seek design alignment
• Agree JV partner involvement in discipline technical design reviews

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree / Post Graduate qualifications
- Experience in design and selection of large rotating equipment for cryogenic service, including compressors, pumps, expanders, turbines etc
- Experience supervising a team of engineers and contractors during selection, detailed design, construction and commissioning
- Substantial experience in engineering, equipment election, pre-commissioning and commissioning of rotating equipment for LNG facilities
- Minimum 15 years demonstrated experience in engineering, equipment selection, procurement, pre-commissioning and commissioning of rotating equipment for large LNG / Onshore gas processing facilities
- Familiarity with Australian and International Codes and Standards
- Familiarity with Australian suppliers and previous working experience in the Australian projects is advantageous
