The Company:
Our client is a major international operator.

The Role:
The post holder will be part of the safety and operational risk audit team responsible for auditing entities against the company’s safety and operational standards and policies as well as local regulations.

Findings defining any gaps found will be made in order to assist audited entities to close gaps and to achieve Group targets for operational and safety performance.

• Undertake specific audit leadership and project leadership roles (team sizes 5 - 30) aligned with skill set as requested by the audit leadership team.
• Prepare for each audit and the role(s) you have been assigned by completing the pre-read and preparing individual work plans based on the audit scope and Sampling and Testing plan. Actively demonstrate rigorous preparation during all auditing activities.
• Analyse evidence and develop findings and actions, supported by evidence, which clearly outline the gaps that exist between current practices and conformance with company requirements at the individual topic level and management system level. During audits lead the identification of management system findings from emerging issues and assist other auditors in the development of management system findings. Lead the development of programme assessments based on evidence gathered during the audit.
• Influence the highest level managers within the entity being audited, using appropriate communication and presentation techniques, to ensure understanding and acceptance of findings and enable appropriate actions to be written. Interact with all levels of entity management to ensure understanding of findings.
• Take decisive action to drive high performance in S&OR Audit. Energize people by motivating and inspiring others to succeed. Coach and give feedback to auditors on how to draw out the best in themselves and others. Actively promote a collaborative work environment.
• Lead and facilitate discussions between people with widely different views and interests, building mutual understanding and respect. Give and receive challenge to traditional thinking.
• Deal effectively with pressure in highly sensitive and complex situations without compromise.
• Represent S&OR audit in interactions with senior line management and other functions as requested by the audit leadership team.
• Be recognised by all stakeholders as someone who can receive and act on sensitive information in an appropriate way.
• Develop and maintaining constructive relationships with business management and colleagues.

** This role is home based and will require large amounts of travel

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
You MUST have:-

• Degree and/or professional qualification in relevant operationally focused discipline or substantial hands on operational experience in a major hazard environment.
• Significant relevant post qualification/after degree experience in a wide range of operational, engineering, project or maintenance roles

• Proven leadership experience in an operational, engineering, project or maintenance role in a major hazard environment.
• Strong background in Operations and/or Electrical/Instrument Mechanical/Marine Engineering and/or projects and/or OSHA PSM.
• Specific detailed experience in several of the following areas in high risk industries is required; quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and management, management of change, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL studies, Control of Work, working with contractors, project management, inspection and maintenance or engineering design.
• Broad technical experience and advanced knowledge of own technical or professional discipline,
