The Company:
The client provides engineering and project management support to clients across the nuclear sector (defence and civil), helping them to ensure that their operations remain safe, their assets are used efficiently and the maximum value is delivered from their capital investment projects.

The Role:
Nature and Scope:

An opportunity exists for an experienced Safety Engineer to join our Energy Practice in the role of a Lead Consultant.
Our client continues to undergo an exciting period of growth, supported by the increasing demand for our services. The role will therefore be varied and challenging, with the successful candidate not only contributing to ensuring technical excellence in delivery to our clients in the Nuclear sector but also supporting the development of our Energy Practice and the wider company.

Principal accountabilities and attributes include:

• Have significant experience implementing engineering design principles and applying a systematic approach to the solution of problems
• Must have significant experience in delivering (authorship, verification etc) Safety Cases; delivery of Safety Cases across multiple industries advantageous
• Ability to demonstrate and apply sound engineering judgement and follow due process in managing our clients’ issues
• A proven track record of achievement in a mechanical engineering environment driven through personal motivation, and an inquisitive mind
• Demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to work to achieve results

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified, in an engineering or science discipline
• 10+ years’ experience in safety led industries
• Demonstrable experience of working within a multi-discipline engineering team with an understanding of other disciplines' constraints and requirements

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Ideally 5+ years in Nuclear, particularly the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation
• Chartered Engineer
