The Company:
Progressive forward thinking company, working on various nuclear contracts, winning new design work packages all the time. Our clients deliverables include full 2D and 3D design, stress analysis and FEA, together with all relevant documentation throughout the project stages.

The Role:
Our client requires a Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer to produce design packages on behalf of their client.

Packages are to be used to define the requirements of design schemes. The details for the role are:

Prepare Asset Care Work Specifications / design Task Forms and associated documents.

This will also involve:
Site visits with the relevant parties to fully understand the issues/plant/equipment and what effects/dependencies with any other issues/plant/equipment.
Understand the original basis of design and establish if still applicable to current and future requirements.
Stakeholder management to ensure fit for purpose solutions are agreed and recorded.
All supporting/justifying information is recorded in the ‘Work Specification’ documents (SLF 4.05.06).
Stakeholder management to ensure the functional requirement/scope are fully understood and agreed.
‘Work Specification’ documents are submitted for endorsement prior to issue.
To follow on and assist at relevant stages of design.
To follow on and assist at relevant stages of construction/implementation.

Secondary
Production of Asset Condition Reports (Structured Plant Walkdowns [SPWs]), complete with:
Site/plant walk downs with operations personnel to understand the allocated system.
Investigate history of allocated System and record issues/problems/events/maintenance.
Produce a ‘Structured Plant Walk down’ schedule (as per given format) for each allocated system.
Produce a ‘Structured Plant Walk down’ report for each schedule.
Liaise with relevant System Engineer regarding output of the ‘Structured Plant Walk down’ report, to enable/aid the System Engineer produce Condition Report.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.
Experence working in a multi- disciplined design team
Sellafield experience is essential

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Recent/Current P4 pass or SC clearance beneficial
