The Company:
Our client is a Global Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group inside which you’ll find an incredible range of expertise and opportunity.
They offer their clients a complete range of skills and services so that they can work with their teams right from the earliest ‘ideas’ stage of their planned investments, through the study or concept selection phase, the front-end design, the EPC phase, and on into the commissioning and start-up phase.

The Role:
• Execute assigned work in accordance with the applicable Project Procedures and Standards, including or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control,
within the man-hour and cost budgets and the project schedule targets
• Liaise with Project Co-ordinating Engineer regarding the interpretation of Client's Specifications and Standards
• Review the project execution schedule developed by the Cost and Planning Department
• Liaise with Process Engineering Department as required during the initial design investigation stage when process design philosophy and process equipment specifications are
established and during contract execution
• Prepare material requisitions for the defined static equipment
• Issue material requisitions to the Materials Management Department for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions
• Prepare the master Requisition Index and update and issue it on a regular basis
• Review Vendor’s quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluation and recommend the final technically acceptable Vendor, in conjunction with the
• Materials Management Department commercial quotation evaluation
• Review document requirements and issue dates for major equipment with Vendors at the pre-order meeting
• Compile, update and issue a Vendor’s Document Index (VDI) on a monthly basis
• Distribute Vendor documentation to the various Group and co-ordinate their comments
• Prepare consolidated comments and return these to the Vendor
• Correspond with the Vendor on technical matters and ensure that action is taken where necessary
• Liaise with Materials Management Department to obtain all necessary Vendor information; in particular review with the Materials Management Department late vendor documentation
for expediting
• Liaise with the Project Engineer and other groups regarding information required by Design Engineers
• Issue copies of final documentation for inclusion in the Mechanical Catalogues
• Provide assistance to the Materials Management Department on engineering matters, inspection and witnessing of tests of major equipment as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, while chartered status is also preferable
• Experience should cover a wide range of Static Equipment, including columns, reactors, drums, tanks and heat exchangers
• Experience of pump selection and performance characteristics
• Additional experience of performing thermal design using HTRI and/or HTFS software
• Flexible attitude, with good written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with a contractor, operator or consultancy on refinery, petrochemical, pharmaceutical or oil & gas projects
• Extensive knowledge of design and fabrication to ASME VIII and Owner specifications
• Computer literate within Microsoft Office
• Experience of Vendor co-ordination meetings and engineering review meetings as required in order to establish full understanding of scope of supply
