Our client is a global leader in engineering and project management services across nuclear, natural resources, clean energy, water and the environmental sectors.

Having entered in to a joint venture with a local leader in Qatar, our client is now a prominent and growing company in the region offering maintenance, shutdown and workshop services, facilities engineering and international supply access for the petrochemical and oil and gas sectors.

The Role:
Purpose / Role
• To lead the Structural team in delivering the designs meeting company Client criteria for Technical Design Quality, Technical Safety and within allocated timescale.
• The work involves feasibility, conceptual, FEED and detail design for Onshore/ Offshore Brownfield and Greenfield projects in a developing organisation.


Key aims and objectives
• Responsible for the delivery of Structural Design deliverables to safety, quality, cost and time parameters
• Managing of discipline engineers and interdisciplinary co-ordination and to lead the Structural Project Team in multidiscipline or Structural single discipline projects.
• Development of the Structural department within the Qatar business

Prime responsibilities and duties
• Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
• Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
• Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.
• Administer and implement company, and where applicable, client / project policies and procedures
• Ensure the designs comply with relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
• Provide technical assistance to business development strategies and activities
• Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
• Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in the review.
• Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
• Identify scope and schedule changes accordance with the Change Control Process.
• Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.
• Maintain good communication with the Client.
• Supervision of discipline personnel and allocation of work
• Approval, checking and preparing of design/engineering documentation
• Develop and enhance processes and systems for wider use in the discipline
• Undertake development of less experienced personnel and graduates, including mentoring
• Maintain the discipline of the group assigned and deal with the day to day personnel matters
• Ensure all interfaces with other disciplines are maintained and developed
