The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Lead Subsea Control System Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
• The Lead Subsea Control System Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, manufacture, testing, integration, installation and commissioning of subsea control systems and associated equipment.
• This will include the generation of detailed functional specifications and bid packages, performing bid analysis, review of design and test documentation, interface management, QA/QC and manufacturing/testing oversight, FAT/SIT management, and equipment installation and commissioning.
• The position will be a key focal point in the subsea team responsible for management of technical and commercial aspects of contracts as well as interfaces between equipment vendors and various project stakeholders including subsea (trees, manifolds, jumpers, etc.), topsides, drilling and completions (downhole equipment/instrumentation), operations, and umbilicals.

Travel:
• The position is based in Houston, TX, USA, but will require up to 30% domestic and/or international travel during the engineering phases, increasing to 50% during installation and commissioning activities.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• B.S. Engineering required, P.E. License preferred, M.S. Optional
• Proven track record of driving incident free HES culture 15+ years experience and knowledge of detailed design, manufacture, testing and installation of subsea control systems and associated equipment including subsea drilling control systems.
• Experience representing major operator Experienced with applicable industry and regulatory codes, standards, and recommended practices of subsea systems (control systems and interfacing equipment).
• Requirement to obtain offshore medical clearance and offshore survival certification

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Capable of serving as Controls Technical Lead on projects, including generation of detailed functional specifications and bid packages, performing bid analysis, review of design and test documentation, interface management, QA/QC and testing oversight, integration testing, equipment installation and system commissioning.
• Demonstrated ability to drive incident free HES culture Demonstrated capability of working as part of a multi-functional asset team, including vendor management (communication, cost, schedule, MOC, etc.).
• Has good knowledge of economic drivers and uses this knowledge to make or influence decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision. Self-directed and proceeds on own initiative. Strongly proactive.
