The Role:
Provide effective subsea engineering services and technical support in accordance with the project objectives, industry standards and best practice for safety, reliability and cost.
Accountable for all subsea controls linking to the existing Platform and the Gas Plant, including new-build subsea facilities for the expansion.

Incumbent will be the project knowledge expert for all subsea controls' matters. Accountable for the management and delivery outcomes of subsea controls including subsea vendor packages, through FEED, EPIC and associated HU&C works to first gas. Ensure that all subsea control interfaces between the new-build expansion works and the
Gas Plant & Platform O&M teams, drilling team, and central engineering are effectively identified and proactively managed throughout the FEED, EPIC and HU&C phases through to first gas.

* Ensure that FEED, detailed design, specialist vendor and EPIC engineering contractors clearly convey design intent through engineering drawings and specifications and all design work conforms to the required and agreed codes, standards and specifications.
* Provide technical oversight of Vendor packages to ensure delivery to quality, cost & schedule per contract/PO, and lead subsequent vendor data / engineering deliverables' reviews and approvals.
* Lead regular technical and progress reviews on the project and packages under oversight and responsibility (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, Regulatory Approval input).
* Lead design validation/verification activities & manage all FAT works for the subsea control packages & provide technical support to site / vendor-based / EPIC teams.
* Identify and evaluate design changes in accordance with the project management of change process. Co-ordinate design change control and approvals within discipline.
* Principal project team member to interface and liaise with Operations for technical input to design/packages and throughout all first gas HU&C works.
* Provide input to the Project Monthly Report for responsible areas.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Tertiary education qualification in an engineering discipline.
* Minimum 15 years oil and gas development experience with high technical understanding of subsea controls & SCADA in on/offshore brownfields and greenfield developments.
* Experience of working in an oil and gas industry regulatory regime with clear commitment to working to a high standard of HSE performance
* Understanding and application of international / industry codes and standards.
* Extensive market knowledge of worldwide subsea equipment vendors, suppliers and contractors.
* Vendor package tender preparation, evaluation, management including technical /commercial oversight.
* Site experience should include design and offshore client representation, technical package oversight and activity organisation.
