The Company:
A global, diversified, upstream oil and gas company

The Role:
This full-time role will be accountable to the Project Manager for delivery of the subsea control system. The project will run over a number of years and involves multi-well subsea development.

'Package responsible’ for safe and efficient delivery of the scope with a high focus on technical design compliance and quality assurance. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable ability to work proactively with others, both internally and externally. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for ensuring diligent and comprehensive interface management with affected parties/teams within the overall project structure.

Duties include:
Promotion of safe and environmentally sound working practices within area of responsibility
Appointed as project Competent Person (CP) for subsea control systems
Ensure compliance with project-specific design and functional requirements and company standards and liaise regularly with Company Technical Authority
Provide both leadership and effective management of scope, working both independently and within a multi-discipline team
Responsible for development and maintenance of cause and effects schedule and comprehensive support to HAZOP processes and development of P&IDs and E&I/Chemical/FO schematics
Ensure all interfaces to other disciplines & teams are clearly defined and correctly managed
Provide critical technical evaluation of all commercial and contractual matters relating to subsea control systems
Communicate effectively across the project and with key project stakeholders
Develop a working knowledge and compliance with company and project-specific processes
Report on a weekly and monthly basis on the progress status of the scope. Provide verification of performance against plan
Recommend remedial action to minimise effects of technical changes or schedule delays
Develop a comprehensive understanding of technical risk associated with scope and put in place mitigation as necessary
Maintain formal records relating to technical queries, concession requests, interfaces, change management and variation control
Maintain and develop current awareness of relevant subsea control system technology, including fibre optic systems

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering qualification (degree or equivalent)
Work experience in the UK Oil & Gas industry preferably in a lead role within major projects
Comprehensive technical knowledge of subsea control systems, including fibre optic systems.
A design/engineering bias, rather than after-market/service support is essential.
