The Company:
Our client is an oil & gas operator

The Role:
The service holder will support, within the SURF package, the Construction/Installation Leader in the activities related to:
• Offshore lifting operations;
• Seafastening of equipment on installation vessels, Heavy Lift vessels and cargo barges;
• Design of the installation aids.
He provides advices and offers solutions to encountered problems and, as a general manner, takes part to the activities related to offshore installation discipline during the preparation and the execution phases.
The service holder will support the Construction/Installation Leader for all the engineering activities associated to subsea structures & subsea spools lifting, seafastening and installation aids design. He will give also support for the preparation of all operational aspects linked to lifting and seafastening activities.
As part of the follow-up of the detailed installation engineering performed by SURF Contractors (control of Contractors’ documentation with regard to specifications and contractual requirements), the service holder will have to ensure that the Company and project requirements are met.
During engineering phase, the service holder will have to closely interface with the other engineers of the installation team and will have when required to interface with Head Quarter Lifting and Structure specialists.
The service holder participates to the achievement of SURF team objectives in terms of H3SE, quality, costs and schedule.
The service holder is also accountable for respecting H3SE rules and ensuring their application within his scope of responsibility.
1. To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to H3SE, respect the Project HSE requirements and ensure application of H3SE rules.
2. To be informed of Company Rules and Specifications (CR’s/GS’s), international norms and standards, taking knowledge from them to application to the Project.
3. To participate to the supervision and control of the detailed engineering dedicated to offshore lifting and sea transportation by timely reviewing / validating the documentation issued by Contractors (technical documentation / drawings / installation analyses/ installation procedures/ queries / derogation requests), in compliance with SURF contract, Project Specifications and Procedures, COMPANY General Specifications, Discipline requirements and international norms and standards, in compliance with the schedule and with the aim to optimise costs without impacting the required level of Quality and Safety.
4. Raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues...
Participate, as required, to meeting with Contractor(s)
5. To give support to Construction/installation Leader particularly on the following subject:
• Lifting and seafastening analyses
• Lifting and transportation procedures
• Meteocean conditions and weather limitations for offshore lifting and transportation operations
• Behaviour of the lifting and transportation vessels
• Suitability and readiness of all the lifting equipment
• Structural design and calculation linked to the equipment to be lifted and to the different required installation aids
• Suitability of the rigging associated to offshore lifting operation
6. To closely interface with other SURF installation engineers and to request/organize assistance when required of Lifting and Structure Head Quarter specialists
7. To give support to the Construction/installation Leader on any required technical clarifications/discussions with Marine Warranty Surveyor on offshore lifting and seafastening aspects
8. To participate to the follow-up of the good implementation of the H3SE project requirements at yards (outside Angola) (including H3SE award system).
9. To participate during offshore installation campaign to the follow-up of the offshore activities associated to seafastening and offshore lifting operations.
10. To ensure adequate and timely reporting to the Construction/Installation Lead Engineer, and, as a general manner, anticipates problems, optimizes, improves, and offers solutions with regards to his discipline.
11. To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Professional Experience (years): min 10 years in installation team of SURF offshore projects and significant experience in offshore Lifting operation
Experience in similar position (years): 5 years
Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent.
Languages: English mandatory.
