The Company:
Our client is the world's largest exploration and production company with operations in over 29 countries. In Australia our client is leading the way in both upstream and downstream oil and gas projects with further development projects in the pipeline.

The Role:
Our client is looking for a Local Content Specialist to support the ABU-West Business Unit to meet its project local content PSC obligations and execute its Local Content Strategy.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Provide specialist advice and support to sponsors across all relevant functions, in managing the implementation of the local content commitments associated to their work scopes, including tracking of performance and outcomes
• Provide local content advice to contract sponsors during initial assessment of contract work-scopes for the project
• Carry out evaluations of local content proposals submitted during competitive tenders and contract negotiations, ensuring consistency with the ABU Local Content Strategy and associated principles
• Providing specialist assessment and advice in the implementation of relevant processes associated with the consolidated local content plan
• Support the local content team in execution of objectives in communication and reporting of local content processes and outcomes, both externally and internally

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• 3-5 years’ experience in a community participation related role
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as Social Sciences or other relevant degree
• Experience in working with oil and gas or mining industries, is preferred
• Experience with Timor-Leste activities will be viewed favourably
• Demonstrated experience in working with the implementation of local participation requirements and strategies within a supply chain process, including evaluation of vendor proposals
• Must exhibit effective collaboration skills across multifunctional teams
• Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills or Database management
• Must be able to keep track of process implementation, and clear records
